Alternatives to a CF driveshaft

Seeing as how the stock steel driveshaft weighs a ton, I started looking around the house for replacements.

I found that the clear plastic tube inside a pen is suprisingly close to the original shaft's diameter. It fits in the bushing, but is pretty tight - just needs some shaving down.

Anyone find other things that work?

IT works like a charm!!!!!!!!!!!

this reduces the rotating mass and improves responsiveness to the drivetrain

It's not hard to do either, so for all you cheapskates out there, I strongly suggest this mod

I've got a couple questions and a alternative.My first question to you is, How do you get all the ink out of the pen? My other question (to anyone who knows) what is the LENGTH of the Rsx driveshaft? Because i am making a custom driveshaft and a dont have the stock one anymore.And my alternative is, a wooden one made from skewers you can get at Ingles,Piggly Wiggly,Krogers,Bi-Lo,Food Lion etc. . All you have to do is cut the to the length needed and then make a D-cut in one end (or two depending on if you have 4WD)
