Buying a plane

I want to buy a small-medium size plane. I want to fly it at a small field by my house. It should be small enough to fly well in a small area, and durable enough to withstand my crashing it. I don't want to spend more than $150 for rtf. What plane should I buy?

How much better is the firebird commander than the firebird II.

the comander has landing gear wich will be very helpfull for practicing landing.....heres a comparison chart: http://www.hobbyzonesports.com/Disco...omparison.aspx

what ever plane you get, i recomend your first couple flights being bunny hops and gentile turns so you can get a feel of its flight charactoristics.....

ill keep checkng back here to help out as much as possible

What do you think of the firebird outlaw. It is a lot cheaper and That might be better for me to learn on. It is also the smallest one which is good too.

actually, the outlaw is only a 2 channel (most trainers and park flyers are 3-4 channels) and even though it is cheaper, it wont be as good a lead in to bigger and faster planes if thats what you intend to eventually do......also smaller planes can be more dificult to fly in somcases, especially outside, because the air molocules would be larger in porportion to the wing..........but i think that what ever you decide on you will be happy with......

The firebird commander is only 2 channels too. I just want a small, cheap plane to decide if I want to move to bigger. I might homebuild a plane. I will make another thread with my ideas.
