I purchaced a nice pinnion puller from my hobby shop and used it to remove the pinnion from one of my motors to install on a 180.
I used a vice and slowly squeezed it pushing the pinnion on the shaft. well looking at the other end of the motor there is a dimple in the metal<not big but visible> the comm got pushed to hard.
what is a good method of installing a pinnion that will avoid this problem in the future ? should I heat up the pinnion and put the motor in the fridge trick ?
any suggestions would be apreciated..
thx
When I switched my pinion gear to my MZR-130-AA-BB I drilled out the hole slightly. I used a #47 drill bit to ream it out a bit. Install was still plenty tight and I used my pinion puller/press to install it.
