Xmod racing in Grand Rapids, MI

My son and I will be starting a club and racing Xmods in Grand Rapids, MI.

First race will be tomorrow, Saturday, January 17.

Three classes:
1. Box Stock - No modifications (except body kits)
2. Modified - Only official Radio Shack Xmod upgrades
3. Unlimited - Whatever you want to do

Three four minute heats and one 4 minute main. Maximum of 6 cars per race.

Practice and Registration starts at 12 noon. Racing starts at 1:00

Well, nobody but my son and I showed up on Saturday. Come on guys there has to be otheres in the area that want to race.

We will try it again next Saturday.

man i would love to race wit u guys. but sadly i live in virginia.
and im not old enough to drive so. i havent really raced wit anyone yet jus my self.

I've got it posted on at least 2 other forums and put flyers out at 5 Radio Shacks here in town.

Would really like to race, but I'm 2500 miles away. Later this year I'll be closer like 120 miles away. But still kind of far. If I could get some vacation time I'll be there.

I know that a few ppl walked out of my store with your fliers, and they are still up in the xmod section. I also posted the announcement over in another forum i am on. keep letting everybody you know with an xmod know hopefully more will show up soon.. If i can get there next sat i'll bring my lil bro, but i may have to be in port huron for family things.

Boy, does that track look familiar...

Good luck with your endeavors, we are struggling with the same thing here in Buffalo. We have a racing night every Wednesday, and attendance has been disappointing. I think if we saturate all the local RS stores and hobby shops we can get a few more people to show up.

Of course, I'm campaigning for a RCP track setup, I think more people would show up for that.

Race day tomorrow!!!!

We will get started with practice at noon and racing at 1.

Come out and join us. We did have to raise admission to $4. Our rent per person got raised from $1 to $3.

Well, we had 7 cars on the track at once yesterday. What a hoot!!!!!! If you aren't racing these things on a track with someone counting laps, you have no idea what you are missing. Nobody wanted to stop racing. We ended up running 6 five minute races by the time the afternoon was over.

Two new faces showed up along with those of us who have become regulars.

Hoping we can keep growing. We are even going to start inviting the Mini Z owners to join us. Separate class for the Mini Z so we Xmod racers don't get walked all over, lol.
