If I were you, I'd go for something that costs less and then have money left over for mods, paint, insurance, etc.

If not the STi go for a regular WRX. Anyway browse the subaru club forms for some cool stuff:

One of the reasons I'm selling the Supra is because its a money pit in terms of modifications. Any new car I get will have MINIMAL modifications done to it. I'm trying to simplify my life. And by the way, a normal WRX is in the cards, the STi is preferable though of course.

Don't get me wrong, modifications and upgrades are sweet. I just can't hassle with them anymore, or at least until I have more than one car to screw with, haha. The STi comes upgraded in every area I'd upgrade, so I'd definitely like that. An NX intercooler sprayer upgrade wouldn't hurt though, and a purge valve would be nice.

Yea you gotta watch where you go with any car you get or you will end up in the same position as with the supra.

My Supra is now for sale on eBay if interested or if you just want to see!

I think an 03 Celica GT w/ Action Package and all the options is what I'm trying for, the EVO and WRX STi are a bit too expensive.

get the sti. of all the cars i've owned, i like it the most. i also like my play car 91 240sc w/ sr20det and autronic. very good, just gotta get the frame pulled and aligned after catching air at a drift event.
s2000 was alright. wrx wagon was awesome, but needed me to do the mods i did. EF civic w/ very very fun. mini cooper S crap for power but handled awesomely w/ race tires at scca. EK civic was okay but heavy. 93 eclipse GSX was fun boosted, but many many problems. 3 clutches in 40000 miles, 2 of them race clutches and broken timing belt at 10000 miles. ford splash was fun, but needed a 5.0 that i couldn't give it.
wrx wagon for a cheaper car is the way to go. you gots room and just add a turbo back exhaust, uppipe, redone ecu by cobb and some cusco zero-2r's with a stiffer spring rate and you are set. oh yeah, some whiteline sways and noltec endlinks round it out. most importantly get rid of the crappy stocks!!!!

Here's my new whip. I drove it out of the showroom yesterday with 1/2 a mile on it. I'm gonna do a couple of minor mods to it, and leave it as stock as possible
Sagelwaa, nice call on selling the Supra. I myself had to part with my 02 Audi S4, cause it was costing me way too much money. I like my new SVT. It's a lot of fun to drive, and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg to own. In the two days I've owned it, I have been babying the crap out of it. Yesterday a kid pulls up next to me in a civic with wheels and a fart can wanting to race. I revved the engine a little, and when the light turned green, He jumped off the line, and I just let him go. If I'm gonna race, I'll do it on the track, not on the street. Why beat on my car just to prove I'm faster. These kids don't realize that it's not the car. It's the driver.

Thanks,
I just got my 2004 WRX brand new off the lot too and I'm very content with it. I am only gonna do a few minor mods (probably factory upgrades). If I wanted a nice tuner car I would've just kept the Supra, haha. Anyway I'm glad you feel me, peace
