e clip antenna mod
i know it has probably not happened to you guys yet, but my stupid dog decided to pick up my xmod in her mouth and cut the antenna wire. all at the same time, when i was soldering it back on, the plastic melted and the metal piece and screw flew somewhere. by now u should know im into full size rc. so what i did was, i took the smallest e-clip i could find and used that instead of the metal piece. for some reason, i have much better range with my car. pick up a pack of eclip assortments from ur lhs. they r like 1.50 for a big pack.

Tell me something. Is the e-clip made of a thicker metal. And also is it made of a dark black metal. I think that a thicker piece of metal would help and if it's made out a very dark or black metal then its probally been hardened. You might be onto something good here. Anyhow...glad you got it working again...

yep. e-clips r thicker. there r a lot of different kinds. some r black, but the one i used was for my nitro rustler so it is just polished. if u ever lose any antenna pieces, use an e-clip instead!

Well... After being into 1:10th scale r/c's, I really really hate e-clips . Anyways, I guess this would work preety good. Anybody try the silver ones?
