dust makes my cars spinout and just 180 sharp as hell. the only way i could drift is if i turn right then left so quick that it has no time to go right and it gets into a drift but you cant control it becuase the car doesnt really drift well. if you can seriously drift, please film it. i would really like to see it done because it looks awesome when yuo get a real drift.

and byebye, is that you car in your avatar? is it the 3.5l or the 2.5 (i think)? and if its the 3.5 , is it manual?

I think most of you are missing the point of Drifting. Ok, so in most cases it is slower, such as in the D1 Tracks. Those turns could easily be taken at a much higher speed if you were driving grip. However, understeer(sometimes terminal understeer) sets in on very tight turns unless the driver takes them at a much slower pace. However, if you drift the turns and link each together, you can maintain a much higher speed. Keiichi used this to his advantage at some JGTC tracks. Don't try this yourself unless you're at a track, because I am highly doubting you have enough skill to actually use drifting to your advantage. Another uncommonly known tidbit of information is that race cars are sliding most of the time, but not at the level that it could be considered a drift. If you want to challenge this, buy Speed Secrets beforehand.
To your average "drifter", drifting isn't about helping you go around turns faster. So why do most people do it? Because it's fun. That's it.
Also, BluCivic00, drifting FWD is possible. If anyone doesn't believe that, talk to Kyle Arai at the Drifting.com forums and he should be able to change your mind.

good call. hey everyone. drift in gran turismo 3. use the ae86 with semi-racing sus, brakes, 2 plate clutch, racing flywheel, racing exhaust, chip, medium slicks in rear, soft slicks in front (substitue simulation tires for the more advanced styles and abilities) and weight reduction stage 1. enjoy! fool around with the settings cause im 2 lazy to turn on the ps2.

dude. sims on a ruf rgt? HEAVEN! i can almost drift anything. i suck with the overpowered italian cars like pagani and lister and stuff. i just love taking my altezza and ae86 out on apricot hill and drifting for 20 laps on free run. i use sims when i want to control the drift. for racing, i use slicks but i still drift lol. it is faster for me cause i know a lot about it.

hahah, i just drifted the Pikes peak at 189 miles an hour on the swiss alps course. this is getting off topic, so i wil bring it back, i was just playing with my Civic, and i drifted a 6 corner track 3 times in a row, i was gonna get it on tape but... i couldn't get my friend to come over, but as soon i as i get the miniz body i ordererd i'll be making a music vid. so look out for that sizzle.

From my experience thus far, unless you have a set of less grippy tires, its very difficult to do a proper drift with an XMOD car.

I was able to pull some drift-like moves with mine on a hardwood floor with a light coating of dust. But it was really more of a slide than anything.

I was thinking about trying again using some kind of wrap around the tire to create a low friction situation, and then all I need is serious torque to break the back tires loose for drifting.

I would also like ot see vid from someone who has done proper drifting with their XMOD car/s.

Thanks for the link I am checking it out now!

I see in the picture he has tape or something on his back tires. Maybe thats what I need to do...

OK... I just checked out the three vids he has. Nice drifting action, but to me it seems like cheating since he is using tape over the back tires. I want to drift with actual tires, stock or from the kits.

Tyres: F Hard Tread; R Stock
Springs: F&R Stock
Batteries: F "

the guy in the vid uses these settings

locked diff is easy
stock:
just block gears from spining
i used duck tape(thick and sticky)
you may glue them but that would make it too permanent
try something else like mold putty or somethig
open diff remove gears jam them in with ... squeeze tight with your fingers then screw the screws
ball:
on ball diff (the one with awd kit) i cut a washer out of thin plastic
placed it inside diff sqeeze REAL tight to prevent screws from striping plastic holes larger.
theoreticaly you can control amount of lsd slip
much more fun this way, try . it's a quick and effective mod
there should be more info around forum try >search
