ok i have a question about the mini x. i ordered the $95 from www.tinyrc.com and i got it in the mail but because i forgot to order the charger i will not be getting it untill after christmas. i was wondering if you can run the car off of regular AAA batteries without any mods to the car. i want to do this just untill i get the charger. on the car are the batteries soldered into a pack or do they use springs to complete the connection? please help me if you dont understand what im trying to say just ask because i can word it different. Thank you very much for any information you give me on this topic in advance.
EDIT: i noticed that the car is a 5 cell. with this setup are they soldered? if they are can you change it to the 4 cell setup? im not looking for speed while im waiting i just want it to run.

You can use regular AAA. But you need some springs for the battery compartment. They are option parts and i don't know if tiny add's them to the pack they sell. You can make your own springs out of thin steel wire. Search for a picture of the springs, it may help you to build a set.
Otherwise you can solder a battery pack by yourself, a lot of work, cause the batteries won't last long
