CRX ALL THE WAY!!
They seriously need to get the 91 Honda CRX SiR out there, that would be so awesome.

I know a guy who has a sweet 240SX with a pretty much complete conversion to a silvia, including the SR20DET. He puts down around 385hp and runs 11secs. I haven't seen his slip but that is what I have heard, he lives in Texas and only comes up for car shows. What I'd like to get my hands on is a one-eighty (S13) with a SR20DET blacktop..one can dream right?
http://www.wetdreamz.net/ go to members rides and he is labeled as 240.
And the guy who is called SR20DETT..You have to drop a T. The T designates "turbo" and even the twin turbo engines like the VG30DET (300ZX twin turbo V6) and RB26DET (Skyline TT Inline 6) don't get an extra T.
Just a little FYI for anybody who cares, the number in Nissan engine names is the displacement. (SR20 is a 2.0 liter engine, KA24 is a 2.4L engine).

Personally, I like to call it an S14. Calling it a 240SX would actually be less specific, considering there were 4 different 240SX's: The hatchback version of the S13, or RPS13, the coupe version, the Zenki version of the S14 and the Kouki version(the difference between those being the zenki is an earlier model and has rounded taillights akin to the R33 GT-S, whereas the kouki is newer and has more angular headlights). Most people would consider it much more likely that I would be talking about the S14 240SX, considering I live in Southern California.
You probably know this and are talking about an aftermarket SR20DET swap, but the 180SX came with the CA18DET instead.
Oh, and to inform any others on engine names, the twin-turbo's do indeed have two T's. The Skyline GT-R motor is the RB26DETT, not DET. The GT-S has an RB25DET, meaning it has a single turbo.
As for the Initial D comment, I have been referring to cars by their chassis designations for a lot longer than I've been interested in Initial D. My brother's car is an E30 and the engine designation is M20, my dad's car is an E36(M3) and the motor is an S52.
Edit: The VG30DET or DETT I'm not so sure about, because I'm not well versed in the VG art.

I agree, the Skyline RB26 is RB26DETT, not RB26DET, but on the contrary my Supra is a 2JZ-GTE, but TWIN turbo. This is irrelevant though as its a Toyota and the discussion is on Nissan's which name their engines differently. Yall can think whatever you want as I can because all this is in fun and doesn't really matter anyway, I hope yall remember that. By the way, my car is for sale
P.S. Did yall know that there are 4-door Skyline's, I didn't until recently. I think that's pretty funny. I'm sure yall already knew that, but maybe the thought of it gives you a little laugh, it does me. We hold that car in such high esteem and to think that in its home country they would make a 4 door version... its just a little ironic. Can you picture a 4-door supra or rx-7? haha

The 4 door skyline has a different engine too though. For all practical reasons, its not even a skyline. Its just a four door car with skyline lights and windows, haha. But I shouldn't kid myself, I'd take anything as new as an R33.

4-Door Skylines are sweet, I saw a picture of an R33 4-door and I almost like it more than the GT-R. Yeah, it has a different motor, but it's still a pretty good performer.
Hairball:
What year/chassis M3? I'd love to see a picture. I would post a picture of my dad's but it's not on a website so I cant show it to you, unless you want me to e-mail it and in that case it's perfectly fine. His is a silver E36 and is completely bone stock. However, he said he needs "more power" plus the sleeper look so we're currently looking for M5's. I even saw a Z8 in autotrader for $60k, but not exactly practical and far from a sleeper. Well, I can dream, right?
Oooh, they should make a Z8 Xmod!

This reminds me of a funny piece of trivia I ran across a couple days ago. Did you know that when the Skyline came out in 1955, it was a station wagon made by the Prince motor company?

Im pretty sure the chasis and overall design of the xmod would not support indy cars, besides the fact that rs would be hard pressed to release body kits for indy cars...
maybe they could have a spin off like the mini z, who knows...

WHOA 4-Door skylines are pretty old, but not everyone knows about them.. they are the Skyline GT-R ER34. A pretty famous drifter Ken Nomura owns one and he has the sickest drifts i have seen in my life.. smoke spews out of his back wheels like theres no tomorrow..
 thats him..
