rs4
A micro RS4 motor will fit... in a long wheelbase chasssis with the motor mount set at its farthest setting and flipped backwards now will the xmod electronics hold up to it? probably not unless you use an 8 or 9t pinion and mesh gear to match... do not try to use a large pinion or it will likely fry the wimpy little esc...
now for my question, why are you scavenging parts from your rs4 to mod your xmod??

The stock size Micro RS4 motors are a 180 can, I believe. Pretty easy fit, actually. I am seriously contemplating going down this route instead of wasting more time on 130 can motors. Maybe even going to a 260 motor, which, according to my measurements, will also fit. New mounts would be needed, along with a much larger pinion, but hey, there's no replacement for displacement...

hey neuro, i got my 260 motor to fit faily easily... all i had to do was cut away the useless screw cylinders next to the servo, and it got in. i mounted the motor slightly on an angle and held it down by screwing clear plastic over it.. my olny prob is that it isnt fast at all, its the same speed as my s2 top speed and only accelerates a little more, so what are some other candidates for a rs4 260 motor that is pcb/esc safe. with the flattened can tho(mine is flat) please include all the powerful motors that will work, even if a fet mod is required thanx

Will It fit LOL oh YES !!!
Anything can fit with some modding The stock RS4 motor is a 180 can thats eazy to get in. Or you can do a little modding like I did and put the BIG BLOCK in it . " pic attached " To see more cool pics of my mods Go to "Mr BigShot's Must See Upgrades" in the Xmods Science

Impressive!
Geez, what the @!$!@#$ is that, a speed 400?
If I could just get the chassis sans electronics, I would install some pico gear and a Brushless motor. Imagne a Astro 010 on 3 1200 LiPo's, or maybe 4 if you want to do some drag racing. Of course, I would use a CD-rom motor that I re-wound and replaced the magnets on, as I cannott afford a Astro 010.
Great job...all we need now is someone to install a .020 engine, maybe using white gas (coleman lantern fuel) for power. Sure, it would stick out of the top, but the added performance would be worth it.
You could even use a .049 if you replaced the gearing with aluminum, and used a great big flywheel.
