how many volts can it handle

I have got 2 12v camera batteries that have the same diameter of the AAA battery and I have got the materials to put in spacers to fill the gap for the remainding 2 battery spaces, will it fry my board or will the spacers remove enough voltage to run it at a safe voltage.

I'm running 4 AAA's and one 9V and its working, but seems to be at its limit. The thing is extremely fast though!

RadioShack is pretty confident in their battery selection, but I didn't find anything that size on the website. Try Circuit City or HobbyTown USA.

BestBuy has a 12volt the size of a tootsie roll for only $2.99! I think I'm gonna try running this all alone. This way I'll free up tons of space inside the car for all kinds of neat stuff!

Ya know, using a Zener diode could keep the rest of the electronics at a happy 4.8V, while allowing more power to the (upgraded, of course) FETs and motor. I think I'm going to give it a try.

It was not only the words you used, but the way you used them and the insults. I will not discuss this any further, and I suggest the same for you. PERIOD.

A 12v camera battery is probablly going to be a Lithium battery. This type of battery is not good to use for a high current drain application such as the Xmods. The lithium batteries have a very high internal resistance. When too much current draw is demanded they simply add a large amount of resistance in the supply circuitry. In short - you don't get the performance gains you would expect.

It is best to try and use NiMH cells instead. Take a look at this thread to see if you would want to try this for voltage increase - http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...threadid=16985 -

These batteries have the same current drain as all of the rechargeable AAAs everyone is currently using.
