how to build a roof rack 2
i thought it was time i updated my tutorial to include my new designs and use the opportunity to rebuild an x5 prototype since the last one was never returned to me
i was less detailed in this tutorial since i went into great detail in te previous tutorial. i'll have detailed dimensions added very soon.
so for those that happen to fancy my current roof racks on my land cruiser and pajero, sit back and enjoy the slideshow!

I would like to see one on Rubicon Racks if you get around to it. One other thing, I have a question about metal strips. I am thinking about making a T-plate for my MR02 out of stainless steel I found some one inch wide stock in a range of thickness. So what thickness would make a good T-plate? I ask cause I think you may have more experiance than me on this.
Thanks in advance.

stainless steel huh? i would think 1/32" maybe? steel should be very stiff, you want to get something that has some flex to it...steel might be really hard to cut though

Yea I'm looking for a little flex. I may run the center shock on the car. I may also work out a side shock mount into it. Shaping it would be no problem I have a dremel with some small grinding bits. I think it may be interesting to have a chrome like piece back there.
