Mini X Vs. RS4

Okay I really want a 4WD mini RC car and I can not decide between the Mini X and the RS4. I plan on lifting it and making a new frame for the car. My question is which of these cars will be easyer to work with and will be able to reach faster speeds with less cost.

Probably neither is easy and CHEAP to do what you want without hand made components. The Mini-x has very few parts available, meaning your project will most likely need alot of custom parts made by you. The RS4 has many mods and many parts available. I have never seen a Monster truck RS4 however I'm sure one exists made by some guy/girl.

If i wanted to monsterize either a Mini-x or a RS4 i think i would pick the X, but thats because i have access to tools, materials and CAD programs. Plus i like to tinker. The RS4 has a better 4wd set up, but remember it is also bigger...

Keep us informed no matter which way you go.

Here are the measurements i have...sorry i do not own an RS4 yet.

Mini-X: (1/24th scale)
Wheelbase - 4.1" (104mm)
Length overall - 6.9" (175mm)
Weight: 6.7oz. (191g)

Micro RS-4: (1/18th scale)
Wheelbase - 5.91" (150mm)
Length overall - 9.45" (240mm)
Weight: 14.8oz. (399g)

The Mini-X is like $140 RTR from tinyrc.com while a RS4 will run you about $200 RTR to start.

Performance wise, which is better, the Mini-X or the Micro RS4? I have an RS4 and enjoy it. I like the Mini-Xs 1/24 scale and potential body selection. Body selection alone wouldn't be a reason alone to buy a Mini-X. Or would it...

if you can hold off for a while, xray is makin or has a haft drive 1/18th scale car. it also has 4wheel independant suspension, unlike the rs4. for off roading i think that thing would have great potential than an rs4 micro. to date i havent seen anyone make an off road worthy rs4 micro. i think the xray kits are goin to be around the same price as the rs4 and will be out about x-mas time if i read right.

i plan on gettin one as soon as they hit the selves, earlier if i can. i perfer shaft drive setups over belts
