Painted RSX (Cleaner pics)
Ok, so I've been lurking around here for a while. Never posted because I never did anything I really liked. Well I like this. Painted the body and body kit and blacked out the headlights. Mirrors are still being painted but I didn't want to wait. So here it is , let me know what you think. The wheels are next. Tell me if I should do white or gunmetal with a polished lip. Peace

Nice paint job vary clean. Did you paint over the original paint or sand it down.

Thanks. It's straight over the old stuff. I thought about sanding, but got too lazy.

Very nice Tekisui! What type of paint did you use? Very clean job. I think the white wheels might look pretty cool.

The paint is just a testors can. Ran out of money for upgrades but I had a can laying around. I did mask off the windows but they allow for a lot of mistakes since you can just color any mistakes black. BC, I think the white wheels would look good too, but my roommate said he liked the gunmetal with the polished lip. I just wanted more opinions before I do it. Any fans of the headlights?

Yeah, I like the headlights too. Did you have any trouble popping off the lenses?
How about white wheels with the gunmetal lip or even reversed, gunmetal wheels with white lip?

I would also like to know if you had any trouble. Also did you hand paint it or use a can on the lights too? That is sweet looks JDM.

The headlights were actually the easiest part. I was so anxious I did them before I painted. On the inside of the body you can see where the pegs are glued/melted in place. I took an exacto and scraped that off until they were flush. Then I took the little screwdriver and slowly pushed on the peg that goes into the large headlight. They popped right out. When you are putting them back be careful of the other peg, I did crack it but glued it back. Do the same for the tail lights to paint the body. To black them out, I used a Micron .005 permanent marker. If you don't have one of these, GET ONE! There like 3 bucks at Michaels, the .005 is the finest tip. They are great for doing black details. I used the marker so I could leave the orange on the light. Just color them in except for the silver headlight. Then put the lenses back in and a dot of superglue on the inside of the body will hold them. Couldn't be easier. If you do paint the body, you might want to consider painting the headlights to match the body. I've seen it on a few cars and it looked good. Also, someone should try to do a set of eyelids for the xmods, you could paint it in right on the lens. I think it would look hot on a supra or the civic. Anyway thanks for the responses. I'm still undecided on the wheels, but thanks for the suggestions BC. If you have any other questions let me know.
NOW GO PAINT YOUR BODY!!
