if I'm not mistaken 800mah batteries won't make it go faster just longer runtime.

the xmod battery pack gives you EIGHT batteries instead of four and a peak charger all for a total of 25 bucks. it'll charge AA/AAA and NiCd and NiMH

not trying to say best buy is a total rip-off, but unless you have employee discount or a friend with one, things tend to be a bit marked up there

more MAH is more runtime - MilliAmps per Hour

but you may have the capability to deliver more amps with a higher mah batteries - also quick charge batteries seem to have more of a punch - i use a 30 min peak charger from walmart (30$ with four aa's - got 4 AAAs for 12.99 or something - energizer 750 mahs, it usually takes less than 30 min, since the batteries are hardly ever dead) and all my cars go faster - regardless you should try to get the highest MAH you can afford - your motor will be able to pull more amperage if it needs it - at least thats the theory - voltage has alot less to do with it - if voltage made cars faster then the alkalines would be better - 1.5 volts for alkalines vs 1.25 for really good Nimh cells but the nimhs work better

edit - how am i a PRO with only 33 posts? i am a pro but with 33 posts? bleh

they are all related right? more volts means greater current. besides, test your Nimhs, even if they're labeled 1.2 volts they put out 1.5 - same as alkalines.

voltage matters - i cant remember what the difference was as far as motors go - i think that more amperage was more torque and more volts was a higher rpm - not sure - but i do know more mah is better all around - i think 800 is the top for aaa

voltage is like water pressure so it would make sense that it would affect torque while current is the rate of flow so it seems like it would affect the speed.

where are our motor experts?
