anybody done independent suspension?

I was surfing the german sites and say a MT actros with independent rear suspension, I was then looking at pre-runners and I though about making an independent front suspension set-up and solid axle rear just like pre-runners? any bone anything like it? doesn't seem like it would be much moore difficult

Front suspension would be difficult if you ask me but rear suspention is do-able I think.

I do think it needs a (extremely small) wishbone setup.

The german truck I had seen had rear independent suspension with trailing arms and very tiny dogbones.

It can be done with the NWSL dogbones I mentioned in a different thread. Here is a pic of my next TTTT project that has been sitting colecting dust for about 8 months. it will be 4 wheel drive and the dogbones in the picture are for steering.

Hi,
I ve got the best results by using a 1:30 gearbox from www.mikroantriebe.de that is mounted by springs. The frontaxle is also mounted by springs.

So every axle can move on its own an the body of the car is still upright.
Some cars that using axles without springs (or very soft springs)are instable.
That why I use a strong kind of brass plates (In german = "Federbronce") as springs. Normaly this one is using at the modelrailroad as electric connection to the wheels.

Here you should see a picture of a driveline using the named gearbox (the springs are here not to see)

best regards

Thorsten
