i'm wondering if i were to take a drop of oil and put it on the motor (so it ran inside) and put a drop on the middle gear bar if i would go faster

well, if you try it, do it in a cheap motor you dont want anymore, 'cause it might short out the motor and burn it out

I'd try a super thin oil, and very little of it. The thickness alone in a motor that small could cause it to move slower not because of friction but because of resistance.

I've accidently put way too much oil in that exact place. It didn't really hurt anything. It took it a few seconds to get up to speed at first, but after that it was fine. I actually got an old beet-up 2.2 to keep up with a brand new 2.6. The 2.2 was oiled and the 2.6 was unoiled. I always run with oil now. It easily makes the cars faster. I put some where-ever there is friction.
It also makes some of the cars as quiet as a mouse. Just depends on how well the gears are connecting. If it still makes a racket after oiling it, then it may not have good connection on the gears. Just adjust the motor for that. Also, try to find oils that repel dust.

How do you take the motor apart?
