well, I chopped an old cellphone and used the lights they had inside of them (surface mount LEDs) I just left them on the circuit board, put some hair-thin wires on there and puttied them to a battery. It's a real mess though, and I can't quite figure out how to put a switch into the works. I wanted some for the front and back too, but i broke them (oops!) They're so tiny!!
I tried cutting regular LEDs down, but I wound up melting them trying to solder small wires on them. so
NOTE: if you're going to change the size of your LEDs, solder them first if possible.
anyway, here's a shot of the three SMD LED's on circuitboard (I ground down the circuitboard and carefully soldered and reconnected the connections. then ground out the inside of my zap body and ground down the sides of my chassis.
(big project, small results. I must say i'm really dissapointed, but I'll live you know)
