its a good car, not race worthy becuase it handles horrible. the body is very nice, once you get it out of the box and in the sun you'll see. this is not a table top racer, (unless you have four or more of thee fold up type), basketball court gives a lot of room to play around with. You acutally peel out on some race surfaces, but it flies(jumping is fun too) i am going to get an epoch soon

question: is a four cell epoch faster than a dgmaster(radio shack corvette or viper)

I have a few questions to anyone who owns a DGMaster (RS Corvette or Viper) & owns an Epoch

Can you use Epoch tires & bodies with it?

Can you use the Epoch AC Adapter?

Can you use the Epoch Charger?

How bout the remote? lol

I'm looking into the DGMaster Subaru WRC at Dinball RCMart & I wanna know if I can upgrade the car or not.

EDIT: Whats the turning radius on it 5hit? I focus a lot on how my cars turn.

You all know what this thing is? It's a DG master! go to sigmaautomotive.com's R/C section and note the similarities

ADVICE TO ANYONE THAT HAS A RS VIPER/CORVETTE OR PLANS ON GETTING ONE!!!

Please do not run the car near a pool. Because of the speed and uncontrollabilty, if you are a novice rc'er it may end up taking a bath. This was the case with my friend's car, he thought it would be cool to take it out on the back patio right by the pool. And since he can't drive RC cars for crap, he drove it straight into the pool. Now it won't move. He didn't really care though, he thought it was funny.

Wow, I bought one a couple days ago and man is it fast!
I took the top off just to see what was in it...too complicated (and expensive) for me to try and mod.
I put it on our kitchen floor and it did doughnuts all over the flace at full speed with the wheels turned, then I put the wheels back straigh and the other way and it kapt circling in the same dirrection. Lots of power in this thing.
Oh yeah, it was mentioned that it has working headlights i think, but also, if you turn on the turn signal, it goes off automatically after you get done turning the front wheels.
I like my new toy.

I will try to sum up answers to the most common questions about these cars for people who might be considering one.

A. It takes about 2 1/2 minutes to charge with roughly 7-10 minutes run time.

B. An Epoch charging stand will charge one of these which is nice because the epoch charging stand has a jack for an ac power adapter. However, anyone with a basic knowledge of wiring or electronics could add an ac adapter jack to the corvette/viper/dg master charging stand.

C. Stepped proportional control. Approx 5-6 steps each way for steering and the same for speed control. Not nearly as good as an Epoch but not bad. Steering is not quite as fast or precise as the epochs.

D. The manual states that top speed is 490 feet per minute which works out to be about 5 1/2 MPH. The car seems faster than that. It may be the size that gives it a greater illusion of speed.

E. These cars can turn in a circle as small as approx. 1 foot at the slowest speed. The turning circle increases dramatically as the car is driven faster. The lack of a differential and the amount of torque are probably the main culprits.

F. These cars handle better on a surface that provides good grip. Smooth concrete and harwood or tile floors will be more of a challenge. The treaded Superslick tires seem to provide somewhat better grip but the stock slick tires provide decent grip also. Cleaning both the tires and the track surface regularly will help with grip.

G. Like most rear drive rc cars that lack a differential, these cars tend to turn a little better one way as opposed to the other. My viper tends to wipe out easier when making right hand turns as opposed to left hand turns. My corvette has a wider turning circle to the right compared to the viper which makes it harder to wipe out. I am not sure whether this is a production change made to the corvettes to make them easier to handle or just variations in production quality.

H. The transmitter is one of the better micro car transmitters in my opinion. It folds up, has a decent grip, and the steering wheel is about the same size as a mini-z or xmods steering wheel. As mentioned before there is an A,B,C switch on both the car and the transmitter for changing channels. These cars use a concept called wavecoding to create the different channels as opposed to crystals. There does not seem to be interference from one channel to another. However, because of this technology, I doubt if a standard transmitter would work with one of these. Steering trim is on the car as opposed to being on the transmitter. There is no throttle trim control but it does not seem to need one. The range and amount of interference will vary depending on where you use it of course. I get roughly a 30' range in my basement.

I. Overall I would say that these cars are not as precise and refined as the epoch cars but they are not that bad either. In some respects comparing the cars is similar to comparing xmods to mini-z's in my opinion. Like the xmods, these cars are better suited for a track with an emphasis on speed as opposed to a track with lots of tight turns in my opinion.
