All of you good internal modders should really consider doing some of these mods to the new NASCAR Motorworks cars. They are as fast out of the box and look like they have potential for modding.

Here is a pic I took of the internals. The pcb board is smaller than most other boards. Also, here is a link to the full thread that I covered alot of details on these cars.

Steering wires resoldered, motor wires switched, yep those front wheels like to slip out when i boost it, sure looks cool when it flips around three or four times faster than any bit or sip i have seen. i have some time today i plan to dual cell my short (old) motorworks and replace the front wheels on the awesome rc. i want to put the huge tires from motorworks on it and make a jeep rugrunner out of it. I will keep you guys updated.

Well, definately sounds like a controller problem if the car works with another one. There is no crip cap, not that it would do this anyway, and the brand name is Awesome RC. Open the controller and check the antenna connection. Or, take it back if you aren't comphy doin that.

I recently got an Awesome RC rom Walmart after wanting one for 2 months. It doesn't go as fast as you described, Az. Oh, a hard carpet makes GREAT surface for the stock A.RC. And the turbo button boosts speed by 50%. Also...get this...When I was there I saw a 1:18 scale die cast mitsubishi lancer..with the green eclipse paint job!!! Man, they must've messed up soemthing at the factory!!! Also they have nice 1:18 F&F die cast cars at toysrus.
All I can say is....these cars are nice. you posted a great subject, Az.

Here's my new rugrunner. AwesomeRC car with MW gearbox and Zip wheels. This is the most impressive performance car I own now. It flies across almost any surface. The torque is simply unreal. It can leap into the air when jumping onto rugs and can actually push objects out of it's way. Fender flares were added to blend the wheelbase with the thin body. These Awesome cars are the only ones I have that can snap the front wheels left and right while steering with the car standing still.

Awesome job Azimov(no pun intended)! That just might bring the one I have in the closet back to life for a project. Good work as usual!

Azimov, Which type MW car did you use? Nascar, short in square box, or newer longer chasis in square box?

I used one of the old short versions. Any of them will work, even a Zip gearbox as they are all pretty similar. You could probably use the new Nascar gearbox as well as it would allow for a more slim rear end. I used the old one so I could use Zip idler gears and axels so I can interchange them.

That's not a bad idea! I think I'll take that bit of advice.

I also just started a new string on bigger Awesome RC cars that I found at Toys R us, (Yep I'm still a baby, only 13 yrs older with NO difference!) and here are some pictures, they have more traction and the same controller, but bigger. and also it is 1/35 scale.
