do you know how to solder?? do you have two batteries? if so, get them from tinyrc, two of these would work... and do yourself a little dual cell....

as for looks, you can do a whole bunch of exterior mods! Check the forums!

you are going to do a dual cell... an internal one.... but, you DO know how to solder, correct?

for instructions on dual celling, go here ... the only difference in your case is the fact that your extra battery will be inside, not outside.

you can see my dual celled zip here

ZZNEWB, I'm really sorry to hear what happened to your leg. To make your ZipZap go faster, buy a whole bunch of Upgrades from Radioshack. Try the Layman's Dual/Tri Cell mod, and make sure you know how to charge it properly This weighs as much as the stock battery, but with 3x the voltage, so you can try that for more power without the extra load. You could also take the gears from a KIT Racer and put them on a Zip axle to make a speedy gear ratio. Warning: The Kit gears are VERY fast in top end speed but not in acceleration. So you have to wait 10-15 seconds or so before your Zip burns some serious rubber.....The ZipZap shells are VERY stylish to me, but if this isn't satisfying enough, order some 1:64 scale slot car bodies and paint them from the INSIDE!!! Anyway, I hope this solves your problem!!!

First cut off your existing tabs. Then cut your slot in the front of body as in pic. Cut a piece of credit card the width of the slot and mount it on top of steering housing like in pic. I stacked a piece of credit card underneath for clearance.

Note: Leave the existing tabs if you don't mind them sticking out and if you ever want to mount Zip bodies back on!

The do the same for the rear. Cut a notch out for the heat sink screw. Mount the rear tab on top of the heat sink. Again, I stacked mine. Your tab hieght will depend on the height you cut the slots. Do test fits to determine how many to stack under your tabs. Also, you have to shave the front of the rear fenders to clear the wheels. Depending where you cut your front slot, you may have to shave under the front grille on the body. Don't forget tom drill a hole for your antenna.
