im trying to keep an all bit chassis.. i could do that. i could also just extend the bit chassis, about 7mm and it would fit pefect..in fact i still might extend this thing.. i first want to see what 4 cells will do. i still havent got my batterys for it yet..

i believe the car is an aurora slot car... HO scale. i need to get more batterys for my camera so i can take more pics.. i have also had trouble with getting it to work.. but i cleaned off the contacts on the motor. and double checked the battery contacts and then it was working. you have to have a perfectly good connection for the motor to turn..

I was doing to do that too I have a set of them on my desk but I think I will buy kit racers with the black front wheels and use those to mount the wheels
I put the front slot car wheels on a car with the back wheels and lowered it on a kit chassis and it looked way more porportioned
like a real car
I have muscle machine wheels on my car so it doesnt matter to me

humm.... well i might be scrapping this plan. i got the motor in the car (bit) but the batterys were just not powerful enough...these motors need a lot more juice than a few 1/3 aaa batterys deliver.. i guess its time to swap out the slot car motor for the BFM. or the motor from my electric toothbrush.. theres more info on this mod in another post something like the BFM 9000...

thats a shame I got my motor to finally run off of a 5V pack of AA I bet if you got 2 Li Poly that would be sufficiant
I also could not find the BN 9000 thing I tried searching but nothing came up
I need a battery pack that I van externally carge for my half broken car i wreaked it doing a duel cell so I cannot charge using the standard spots
any Ideas
I 'm thinking maby I might look for a cordless phone pack
or do you know if lithium disposables are strong enough you know for lights in cars I thought I can get them for $1 canadian so I could just not use it as much and use those
The li poly are amazing seeming but I dont trust myself with charging them

its a car which usually has an armature motor... basically a wound motor with magnets on the side. when current is passed through, the motor it creates a magnetic field which in turn makes it spin...
anyway the cars themselfs have a straight front and rear axle, and a peg in the front middle of the car that goes into a grove on a track. the track has a couple strips of metal on either side of the groove which electricity flows... there are contacts on the bottom of the cars which pick up this energy and propel the car forward.
check out http://www.slotcarworld.com/ to learn more about them.
