I used double sided tape, about 1/4" wide...the thinnest you can get...it's a web like material..wrap it around the drive wheels...1 layer will probaly do it...it's thin enough to add more..bridge...

If you want cheap clone's, look on ebay. They are sold under name's like mini master tank, or mini battle tank. They mostly turn out to be Combat hero tank's. Some have different hand controller's....

Rotating turrets

Firebox.com has clone tanks that have rotating turrets + infrared...when fired, if the turret is facing sideways the tank dosn't jerk backwards, it piroutes very slightly...they are about the same...

How about...small bore hole in barrel...fibre optic passed through...small led connected in some way to signal from fire/recoil connector on tank pcb...does this sound like sense?

Yes the turrets are independantly controllable...It's just that when you press the turn button, the turret turns in the direction you pressed before the tank turns...you can turn the turret...

Yes, you have to stop first...you can press the turn first but the tank stops,the turret turns in the direction you pressed, then the tank turns...

Can't say how fast they are compared to the Konami tanks, but they are fast enough...turning is odd...you have to stop first...but a rotating turret makes a big difference anyway...battery life seems...
