hobby town to sponcer a MS race season!!

Hobby Town USA is sponcering a microsizer race season it will start sept 6th (i think i will check and get back with ya on the date) the actul race day (week day) will be chousen by the store it will be a points type race and at the end you can win prizes with the grand prize being a miny-Z so get your microsizer ready to race and win some prizes!!

PS: olny microsizers can enter sorry.

on that note is their any way to get more speed out of my MS? i doint want to add a 2nd batt or any other big mod like that but just some littel things that i can do to get a littel more speed out of my MS i have shaved 1.2 grams off the car so far i cut the windoes out of the body and most of the top chassie cover is gone and 2 big (well for the size of the car) holes in the sides of the chassie and removed 4 spokes from each wheel and i have notaced a bit diff so far and i have a 4.2 motor comming so does any body have any other ideas??

PS will attach pix of the mods as soon as the camra bats are charged

ZipRC 08-22-2003 12:44 PM

MOSFET! An unnoticeable double in speed that can be charged as normal. AA-MM-AA-ZZ-II-NN-GG

MS_Modifier 08-22-2003 12:58 PM

MS_Modifier 08-22-2003 01:39 PM

payaso 08-22-2003 01:42 PM

Is this race in Florida, or what? Welcome the tinyrc dood. I'd like to get in on that race. Although, if it's for MS only, I guess they'll be racing 2 cars at a time?

Well I called every Hobby Town in AZ, none are participating in this program, BUT I found one that has races every Thurs. and Sat night. I'm all excited, but unfortunatly it's a 2-3 hour drive, and I don't even drive.

I'm thinking it's time to just donate one of my cars to a buddy so he's got his own, get's all into it, then I tell him about the Hobby Town races, yeah that's the ticket.

No prizes here it's just for fun, but they have different classes, and the guy on the phone said there's some heavily modified cars. Yeah we'll see how modified. If you hang at the Gilbert Hobby Town, I'm coming for ya.:D

...and about mosfets, YES they are worth every penny. At about 3 bucks for a set of 4.

Mosfets add a little top speed, but really they give you way more power which will allow you to run faster gear ratio, and faster motors, and still take 'em off the line.

Use Payaso's link to BitPimps, there is bunch of info there on where to find, and install them.

BTW, 2 of the mosfets will have to flipped, and use jumpers. One glance at your PCB and people will know something's up, but I have a cheater trick. Just swap out one forward one, the one that doesn't need to be flipped, and you'll get a nice boost in performance, not as good as a full mosfet mod, but it is noticably quicker, and no one would ever be able to tell, unles they were familiar with the tiny marking on the transistors, and whipped out a magnifying glass, but otherwise no one would ever be to tell

Oh yeah, and the regular Perfection King 4.2 works good in my Super Bits, but it's too sluggish off the line for me. The Perfection 4.2 pro is a good strong motor, I like it.

ib311 08-24-2003 03:47 PM

mosfets can be found at RCmod.com and you can also find the Phast motor their too. those are my suggestions for pure speed.

MS_Modifier 08-24-2003 05:42 PM

hey i found the mosfet mod and i have some comming and i have a 4.2 motor comming from hong kong that i found on e-bay also i found out that the speed set that comes with a new car WILL NOT work with the 2 speed controler :( so i guess i will be buying a MS sport to get the 1 speed controler and another car (gotta love the hobby town employee diccount at 25% off :D ) and all you gotta do to hide the mosfet mod is paint the PCB cover and sy i painted it to match the car

also about the hobby town race their is no batt mods allowed and olny microsizer brand parts and cars are allower (wink wink ;) )

Aquarius 08-24-2003 06:02 PM

Ummm I dont think there is a Hobbytown USA in Orlando so the closest is Lakeland and I dont think my dad will drive me a hour to race "little toys"(what he calls them".

How is racing 2 cars only going to be fun? Why aren't "Tomy Bits" allowed?

MS_Modifier 08-24-2003 07:34 PM

they might be but from what ive herd sofar olny MS's are alowed i will post more info as it becomes avalable. we should have a copy of the ofical ruls if a few weeks and ill copy a set for my self and post what i read.

i am hoping they will be a few classes to run it or atleast a mod class and a stock class cuz i think my MS will be to fast to run with the other MS's:D :D

BabyKiller 08-28-2003 02:51 PM

lol just put a ms unbell on a 4.2 and do a mosfet with a internal lipo cell or dual cell theyll never notice till you start racing VVVVRRRRRROOOOOOM

p.s. what about gear what kind of races like track or drag

MS_Modifier 08-29-2003 10:27 AM

from what i see in the picof the track (its not very good) the track layout will be kinda like so (see pic) and will be layed out on a 4X6 foot peace of wood and i think after the sesion is over we will get to keep the track so we might starte a mod class if enuff ppl sho up but as of right now their is olny one class to race in and olny MS stuff is leagel  but i guess it keeps it far

BabyKiller 08-29-2003 10:57 AM

lol a Ms mosfet(shhhhh thell never know its a differnt mosfet)lol;) :D

well there probly no rule against mosfets

MS_Modifier 08-29-2003 06:51 PM

ya their is it says no PCB mods and no batt mods so i will just haft to race my other stock ms and it relly is stock but it does have a 4.2 motor and a cat 5 duel wire ant witch my boss (the race master) sait would be leagel) in it witch i will replace with a 3.0 to race with but it says all body ad chassie mods are leagel like cutting holes in the chassie and body to cut off weight witch i did

MS_Modifier 08-29-2003 07:16 PM

Yeah, how is that supposed to be fun?
They should allow Bit Char-G's.
They are the same thing, and more cars at the same time.

MS_Modifier 08-30-2003 11:42 PM

well enorder to get the hobico prize suport we can olny run MS stuff but after the race seson is over (it satarts some time in earley oct and is about 1.5 months long i think) we get to keep the track and lap counter so if we get enuff ppl so show up and race we will keep the races open and we can have our own rules and classes so we might allow bits in on it then im hoping for a mod class!!
