It feels so good to be so bad, and drifting.
O.k. Well first off the LHS (Hobbytown USA) has just started carrying Microsizers. Great These things I must admit are kind of cheap. The first one I got the car kept popping off the charger I figured it was cas the metal contacts were sprung WAY to hard. I went into the controller and crimped them a bit with a pliers. I get everything back together and the charger light comes on and the car stays on. The only problem is that it isn't charging the car. I returned this one but not until I switched tires with my wrx Tomy set because the tires where seperating and making the car bounce. Sweet new wheels for free. Got a new one and removed the capacitor on the PCB of the car, boy does that ever work great, I get atleast an extra 3ft. Anyway I was messing with my cars and trying to get them to drift. I just don't think any where near a controlled drift is possibile. Why, well when you drift in a real car, you need to countersteer to keep from spinning out. These cars steering is not strong enought IMHO to be able to counter steer the front wheels under a slide condition. I mean even at a stop the tires don't want to steer until the car is going.
Try this. Get the car on something kind of slick, where it only wants to spin out under speed. Get it to spin, alot, like where it almost only wants to rotate on one tire. Now let go of the steering, vwala, it still wants to spin, the spring isn't even able to get the car to go straight. Even when you try to counter steer you can't get the wheels to turn in the other direction.
These cars are complicated because of there design and driving style. But boy are they fun. Just thought I would rant a bit.
Also anyone ever try to make a loop for these cars??
