No it won't work in a stock zip zap. It might work with a dual battery mod and/or no reverse mod. The highest motor that will work is a 2.6.

thanks

then how come the zip can handle the NOS motor thats higher RPM than the 2.8....*might be wrong*

bitchar-gmotors 12-24-2002 11:49 PM

The NOS is a 2.35 motor. If you want to run a 3.8 in a zip zap, I suggest doing the PCB board swap or doing the "no reverse" mod. I personally do the swap on all my zip zap cars.

the zip will work the nos motor, but do a pcb swap and see the true speed of the motor i do the same the first thing i do know since i got help from this board is change the board.

What's the most powerful motor I can put in a zipzap without a chance of hurting it.

I'd be willing to put a duel batt. in it.

then what is a pcb

what is a pcb, and how do i swap it, what does it gain me, and how do i get one?

I've got a zip with a nos and a red gear,

and a zip with a turbo and a green gear,

the turbos faster, anyone know why?

go_zz_go 12-25-2002 07:41 PM

turbo has more torque ,,,there fore it is faster,,off the line
