How do I make these rims fit on an XMODS?

I need to drill a hole in them to so what bit size should I use?

I have a set of these and I was wondering if I could melt the D shape into the rim.

I had thought about using the steel center axle, heat the end and carefully press it into the rim.

I just dont want risk ruining the rims.
