My Xmod track.
This was taken from the plans on www.xmodsrc.com. The only changes I made was to increase the pipe size to 3/4" and add couplings in the 10' sections to make every straight piece 5'. That way I can change the configuration, transport, and store the pieces away easier. I also added the cross piece (bridge) to sinify the start/finish line.
I plan on adding more bridges from the straight piece sticking out to make it more secure for when a car runs into them, they will not move. I also bought a bunch of extra material and plan on making it bigger, and create some new tracks.
Here is a link to the plans. You need Acrobat Reader to view them.

The only turn I have to slow down on is the second hairpin. Coming out of the first hairpin makes it hard to set up for the second. I can't powerslide on this surface. I really like that layout you did, I will have to try it.

BC,
About how long does it take to lay out the pieces and fit them all together?
I ask because the complex I live in has an open area between the basketball court and picnic table, big enough to maybe lay a 20'x10' track down. But I'd have to be able to put it down and break it down in a timely manner.
Thanks.

The first time took about 10 minutes, but that was because I had to cut the 5' sections in. I haven't pulled it apart yet and put it back together, but I would say roughly 3-5 minutes tops.

I drew my design in chalk to try it out & I think I am going to build it. You can't really get up to speed much but that is all the space I have. Thanks for your feedback.
Here it is..... pvc track

Another Q for ya BC...
How does the PVC hold-up against the cars hitting it?...What I mean is, PVC is relatively light and if the XMods had some speed behind it and made a solid impact against the rails, does it shift the track/rails off a good amount?
Some duct tape, I'm sure, would take care of that situation. But in a temporary area setup (like my complex) I think they'd frown upon me using Duct tape (or maybe not).

As long as you install a crossbar over the track to the inside pieces, it can take a good impact and not move very much at all.
Sorry, had to chime in.

Any and all input is appreciated tigermask44!
Since I'm such a good driver, I haven't hit the walls much yet.
No really, that was one reason I went up a size to the 3/4" from the 1/2" RS recommended. I've hit the pieces sticking out a few times, and while it moved them a little, it wasn't enough to mess up the configuration. I haven't had a head on yet though.
As tigermask44 said, I plan on installing the cross bars to eliminate that, so you may now be looking at 7 minutes assembly/disassembly time, unless you doing it in bigger sections.
Another thing you could do is fill the pipe with something like sand and plug the ends as not to interfere with the pipe ends where the coupling has to fit. They make plugs for such a case.

Plywood oval?
I'm thinking banked plywood oval. Initial planning stages. I like the xmods alot...i think the potential is there for some real fun for auto racing fans like myself.

heres my pvc track plan. its very small compared to yalls but it is for my gerage and im on a small budget. it is also not for an xmod its is for a mini x. i might go bigger but right now the outside "box" has 5-6 foot walls. the red is the starting line and the blue are braces to hold the "U" shaped peice on. the arent like bridges like yalls they have a sheetmetal ramp on them. if this does not work well i will go to yalls plan
