Well, last night I went mad with my file and managed to raise the ride hight by about a milimeter(front and back), take out 50% to 75% of the front suspention play(slop), make the front suspention travel adjustable with a skrew, and make the travel feel more linear.
OK, heres how you do it.
REAR:
The rear is quite simple, first take the arms off of the car and cut off the tabs sticking out to increase travel. then file doen the bottom part of the arm that hits the chassis, keep shaving untill the desired height is obtained.
FRONT:
This is a bit more complex, first cut the tabs off as you did the back after dissasembaling it completely. now this is the hard part, shave down the top of the chassis where the hub-carrier slots into it. you need to shave this down to about half of its origional thickness. for the play removal and the adjustble travel, you need to file down the top of the hub-carrier where the skrew goes untill there is a very small (but still some) play when you skrew the upper arm to it.
that is the hard part done, now the rear goes together as it was, but on the front, you must remove the skrew from undeneath (hasn't given me problems yet) and the top should be skrewed in so that it just lets the suspension compress enough so that the shocks just bottom out. by tightening or lossening this skrew, you can adjust the travel.
sorry that there are no pics, my car is in pieces because of a rewireing but I will get them posted if people ask for them.
Please do this at your own risk, I will not take blame for ruined cars.
now, I can go over bumps in my patio that I never could befor and the springs are not so compressed while sitting on the car, creating a linear suspension.
