If anyone can ID the TX/RX chips used in these, I'd like to know. The pics I've seen on ebay clearly show the RX is an IC and not the "blob" in the Tomy cars.

I received my LXX AM boost set in the mail 3 days ago. I tried it last night, and I love it! I don't have a real TOMY one to compare it with, but I love the boost feature (great for the straight aways on tracks).

Nice! It's good to hear that a Vancouverite replied first to something! Go LXX!

Mine should be getting here soon, I'll be posting a review and some thoughts when it does. CURSE YOU AIRMAIL FLY FASTER!
If anyone is interested in these lxx modellistas, I notice there's a limited edition of 1500 "calsonic" one floating around now. I dunno how big a deal is that it's "limited," and that's not even really all that limited, but still. Someone may want to get it and feel leet. Toyeast and others have it.
But i guess if you modify your own car, it becomes a limited edition of 1, which is *way* more limited. So ... uh ... yeah.

Even the 4 body styles are awesome.
My Auto modellista set came in today.
Very Sweet. Nice torque on the motor. (slight ticking noise though, have to open it up and make sure everything is in alignment.)
Now it is my understanding the car runs in a 1/2 speed normally?
and when you push the booster button it then runs a full speed?
Since I just got it....I have not done any comparisons with an off the shelf MS/Bit.
