ZZSE + Perfection King 4.2 == WTF?

Anyone played with gearing and all the various motors yet? I have a ton of motors, and all the gear ratios I can find from various clones (exept the 3.xx:1). The 4.2 is pretty quick in the SE, but it's a battery killer. Maybe one or 2 good drag races out of it at full throttle. Granted, I had the lights plugged in because it's pretty dim in my office and the lights help me if It gets stuck under a desk or chair somewhere.

what's a good motor with okay runtime and speed, yet has enough TQ to move this heavy-ass SE chassis and body? and what's a good gearing combo? I don't think the 4.2 can get the SE up to top speed with red ZZ gears.

SEs don't push enough power through the PCB to the motor.

You need to have a fet mod done on it. micro_Amps will do it, and he's the man for it..

Get a hold of him.

it's cool, I do SMT soldering all the time. I'll look into the FET mod. I've also been looking into maybe doing an SCR mod. The idea I have would probably be best left to a cheap-ass bit clone, as it would make it forward only, and it would dump a ton of current to the motor, for drag only, I suppose. I've already learned that you don't use an SE for speed. You can, but it's cheaper and easier to get speed from other things. The ZZ and SE's are just for looks, as the scale is better and more realistic.

Not in my garage. My SE will run circles around most cars.. It runs like a small X-Mod, but better.
