I got my cyclona for 10 bucks from a friend. He got it from vancouver and is currently in vacouver but as soon as he gets back i'll ask. I'm thinking it must have been a clearout sale or soemthing though becuase you can't even get one for that price in the states.
They have a wimpy little steering spring and the magnet was ofcenter so i had to take it apart and center it with glue.
Another really good clone brand is perfect. I think i might pick one of thoes up. Run about 25 bucks i think

Some good news on the magnets. Found them in the size we need I think. 1/8" is roughly 3mm and that's the diameter I found! The thickness of the ones I found is 1mm so I think 2 are still required like the RS ones. BUT, these are higher gauss (by 1,200 - 1,800) than the RS units!! Also, the price is less than 1/4 that of Rape Shack (but with shipping should still be less than theirs)!
Now I just need a rough estimate of how many you guys think you'll buy so I can get a rough quote.. I'm probably going to get about 10 for myself if not more (remember, need 2 per car probably). Price will hopefully be less than $1cdn each AFTER shipping!! But no more than $2cdn each I can assure you. The more I order the better deal I'll get also.
Now to get info on a NiMH batts groupbuy..

hmmm, so these... well 1000 gauss is pretty mad strong... im thinking... hmmmmmm... well i kinda want to get another chassis sooner or later... so how about 4?... or 6... if lose any heh, these can be mailed! wooooo only stamps... so about 6-7 bucks rite?
thx CRX!
hmmm radio shack HAS those batts... but freakin 13 bucks each?! eat my ASS! 13 bucks... damn crappy radio shack!

Well, the RS units are ~ 10,800 gauss strength in EACH magnet, that's about 21,600 gauss with 2. Mine are grade N38 which rate at about 12,000 - 12,600 gauss EACH! With 2 that's about 24,000 - 25,200 gauss! Not a huge amount stronger but every little bit helps.. The ones I found are meant engineering, R&D and industrial use also.
My guestimate is that 10 should cost about $7, even after I ship them to you, hopefully less.

my steering is ok on most of my units. I might try 2 or 4 though if you are getting that good of a deal on them.
I picked the battery out of the cyclona clone i had and put it in my second microsizer. I did a dual battery mod with the battery sitting right above the motor cover. This thing HAULS ASS. I mean it almost does wheelies from stopped. As soon as you are goign any speed backwards and hit the forward button the thing either does a big wheelie (record length is half a pool table or about 4 feet) or it flips completely over. I also hacked the charging station off the cyclona remote and used it to make an ac charger station with an ac adapter wired to it. Charging time is still about 40 seconds and batteries in the car last a LONG time.
If you guys are interested in any pictures or step by step just let me know and i'll try and get ahold of a digi camera.

 that's crazy dieselboy..!
im kinda afraid to mess with anything right now, and i dont have an extra battery, but a step by step would be great!
hmmm maybe it would even solve my ^%$@&$% 3.0 problem... it's the same one that everyone else has: it wont go foreward without a nudge or a quick reverse tap... it's mother fast, even with blue gears it'll burn out for about 3 feet before it gets up to speed.... and then run WAY faster than my 2.6 on teal gears...
o btw, what motor are you using?

ah crap! 27 vs 27 gonna really be messy... =P
im not sure about clones... im actually pretty new to this, just got my bit (real) a coupla weeks ago... hmm well, try out ur clone, push it to max speed and see if you can walk faster than it.. (no running) if it goes faster than you walk, then it's not slow at all... if it's like... ass sslow, then you'll be able to control it on a desk... and not run it off the edge..
lol, im south side... rivierbend (heh yep, asian).. HoiHoi2, where u @?
mebbe we could meet up @ like.. hmmm im not sure =P
how old are you? im in high school... got midterms til the end of the month,,,
i hear clones are rarely the Frequency advertised... buit then again, we'll never know til we try... but you can get two clones (which are prolly helllllla faster than my bit) for the price of one of mine.. so if u wanna grab a diff one, you can do some testing on one of them...
charging usually 45 is enuf for 1:30 - 2:00 minutes of run... but urs prolly more... what kinda battery is it? if i want to run a full 3 minutes with my 2.6 or 3.0, i gotta double or triple charge it..

ralliart - I have 3 ThunderFighters and am quite happy with them. best clone you'll find for $20cdn I feel. I bought them because they were cheap and I like modding them so if they sucked in stock form it didn't matter! I noticed steering is mediocre but speed is decent. I usually double or triple charge it to get the most out of it, multimeter also says the charging pad on these gives a full 3volts!
The best ThunderFighter is definitly the 27mhz, it's far more responsive in stock for than the 49's. Although I just (10 min ago) replaced the antenna on my 49 with a 22 AWG Solid copper unit, made all the difference in responsiveness. The 27's I saw come with copper stranded antennas while the 49's had nickel (?) stranded ones, making the 27's far more responsive and gave them more distance. Now with my newest mod it is slightly better than the 27!! The is also currently running red KIT Racing gears and a 2.2 engine . Hoping to finish a 2.4NiCad mod tonight or tomorrow!
Pie- Why not just buy a cheaper KIT Racing car if all you want is the batt? I don't know of many clones that come with any decent batts while the KIT comes with a genuine Tomy unit! Haven't done much research on batts so far but I don't think it'll be so hard to find.

hmmm, i cant really seem to find the kit racers ANYWHERE... any suggestions? the local wal mart really has nothing... im planning to go out 2morro and exchange my 3.0 (see if i can get one without the halting problem) and i wanna grab an extra batt.... i heard taht some clones actually run NiMH batteries, but im not sure which ones...
im seriously thinking about the dual batt mod, im just wayy to scared to actually do it... i got 2 left hands when it comes to wires and stuff, and i dont have a soldering iron ...
i can live with single cell for now, but (i know this is asking one HELL of a lot) at the end of the month, i got a 5 day weekend... is there any way you could come up to edmonton and gimmie a hand?
lets all have one big happy get together, make a track and race! (all the pple in this thread of course)
