I think what suntzu means by master is the first mold he makes from the diecast. He then casts and creates respective molds from those casts. I wanna stress that this is only an assumption as I don't know the specifics of his process.

i think it was stridex that said you needed a vaccum for clear resin.. thats not true. i have tried 3 different clear resins so far. and i have only experienced one issue with bubbles. but thats because i wasnt paying attention, and there was only one bubble. other than that clear resin works like a charm. when mixed correctly it drys in about 15 min. depending on how much catalyst you use....
i use the 2-piece squish method, and it works great. i have been trying to figure out the one piece method that someone in the forum has been using. but they have yet to divulge their secret.
if there are any bubbles in the resin when i pour it into the mold. i just work them out with a toothpick. bubbles usually are introduced when stirring the resin and catalyst. like i was told in another forum"this isnt cake batter" you dont have to beat the heck out of it. just stir it in good. if you stir consistantly and evenly you can avoid introducing bubbles.
