DOH! Forgot the pic!
This one is lowered, with dual cells and a shen pcb. Had to get rid of the most of the pcb cover, the interior holds down the rest.

No it turns car completely off, so batteries don't go completely dead (not good for the batts).

Yeah, I was very unimpressed with the body when I first stuck it on a chassis and saw how high it sat (like most zip zaps). I had a very low civic on this chassis before, but it was getting pretty beat up (this is my fastest dual cell). It started having battery problems, so I figured it was time for the make over. I replaced the batteries (seems even faster now), JB welded the rear axle in place and lowered the tabs on the chassis (every body sits lower). This thing handles great!!! I reduced the steering throw because it would spin out too easy, now it makes wide sweeping turns at high speed, but I can turn on a dime if I slow down and use the throttle to wipe the back end around. It very rarely rolls, and when it does it never land on its top, mostly back on the wheels or sometimes on a side. It slides so well it rolls the tires off of the wheels! I had the last set superglued, replaced them at makeover time but have not glued them yet. I had to replace the last set of zip zap all season radials on it because they were bald (fried the tread off of em).
Alright here is the profile:

They are rechargeable 1.2v 40mah cells, and can be bought at www.allelectronics.com as a 6pack cell intended for something else. Actofgod pioneered this mod and if you search for "Layman's dual cell" you will find a long thread with all the specifics. Supposedly up to 3 of these cells can be stuffed where the stock one resides.

is there a way of internally dual celling a Zip Zap with a stock PCB without having to go without a cover?

I don't think so, there's too much junk underneath. Actually alot of bodies can't be lowered with the board flipped 'cause there's so much junk under there. With a booster board in there it's a snug fit keeping it under the cover.
I did see someone around here that cut holes in the PCB cover to allow the capacitors, and trim pot to poke through the cover while still using a cover and keeping it clean looking.

Some bodies can't be lowered with the stock pcb cover! I like the bit or microsizer pcb's (clones too). They fit great with a dual cell and stock cover, and if you use a bit cover over just the back half of the chassis, you can lower the body more.
