Some cars only have a range of 5ft, do the best you can.

and use this page

scroll down until you see where you can enter a time and distance
it will give you your speed.

just put the blue speed demon RX-7 back on the treadmill....
455 scale MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my subbie with a dual cell hit 245 scale mph,
and the bone stock bB hit 189.. That's faster than the mcdonald's car earlier topped out on. How could a stock car go faster than a custom car?
stock motor, stock gears, 6v battery!!!!

Okay, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents here. You cannot measure the speed of a car by putting it at a starting line and "time" it 5 feet away. If you put the "5 feet" where it would be at top speed, yes it would work. Here is the reason why... if the car is accelerating or decelerating, it would screw up the measurement. For example, lets look at the real world. If I have a mile taped off and I put my Honda Civic at the beginning of the mile and accelerated to 60 MPH and finished the mile at 60 MILES PER HOUR, that means it would take one minuet to finish one mile correct? (60 MPH = 60 miles in 60 mins) But it would take longer to complete the first mile because I wasn’t STARTING at 60 MPH, but at 0 MPH. Does this make sense? For me to complete the mile in 1 minute I would have to accelerate to say 70 MPH to make up for the lost “acceleration time” Now, if instead I put my car a half a mile behind the line and accelrate to 60 MPH and stayed there through the “mile markers” then it would take 1 min. The timing method is only good for constant speed. Also, you cannot hand time this, it wouldn’t work because you would have to factor in reaction time and to scale a split second could make a HUGE difference. We need an optical timer of some sort.

yea, thats exactly what everyone said. You would be going at full speed through the timing gates.

The Fast & Furious one?
That's a great rear!
I transplanted the gear from it onto my shen's stock rear axle to keep my wheels matched.
When I picked up the MS tuner set, I gave it to my nephew, who's Panther is much improved by it.

If you have a bit/microsizer/shen or anything else like that, what speed did it hit?
