I AGREE 200% sad but true.

The point I wanted to make was that I don't mind the comparison posts
but PLEASE leave the " (insert your least favorite miniRC here) SUCKS" and non informative stuff!!! I totally agree with you in everything you said but I would hate to see this type of posts go because a few people can't help themselves!

IMO - What makes these tiny rc's so special is it's a low ticket item where you're given the freedom to find out for yourself which is best. I'm torn on such an issue, cos' I hate pushing products on people. Makes me feel like a bible thumper knocking door to door. I don't think you should buy something just because I own it. I'm not the captain of the football team that just bought the new Tommy shoes that everyone will then go out and buy to copy. In a few of the posts above, it's obvious that this topic can very easily be turned into a "My dad can beat up your dad" argument. There is absolutely nothing wrong with stating opinions. Opinions are why these boards are here. I think Bits are a good car. I think Zips are a good car. I think some clones make a very comparible product. I even think the thread topic is a great idea, as long as it stays in an opinion format without resulting in pissing contests. Zips in my opinion are my favorite because I love to mod. That's a fact, but only to myself.

ive read all the post on this thread and i have to add my two cents.I have one of each a bit, zip, and a clone(shen)and my prefrance for speed and all out fun the shen! Now for the style bit,im into imports and like the bodys the bits have avalible, the zip is a hassle to make fast i swaped my pcb on my first zip and my dog ate it It did make the car alot faster with the swap,so im doing another.the shen is super fast out the box or should i say the dome.the bit is slow compared to the shen with the same motor 2.6 i dont know about the 3.0. Does anyone know if the shen controller has a crip cap? i asked this in a thread and havent recived a answer. So to finish my opinion i choose the clone shen. And who ever dosent like that lets race and i will smmmmmmooooooke you.lol

I have four bits coming for Christmas for my older children. I have also been looking at Zip Zaps because of all of the discussion that I have found on this forum. It looks to me like the ZZ's are probably better for the kids since they are slower (easier to drive) and they have some neat bodies that kids would love (Sponge Bob and the others). I don't know, but for the price it seems like if you are getting a micro for your kids that you would probably want to go with the ZZ's. I just wish you could race more than two at a time. That is why I went with the Tomy Bit Char-g's. I may wind up buying a couple of ZZ's sometime in January when they get back in stock at Radio Shack. Tell me if I am wrong about this. I know that most of you know more about this stuff than I do.

nah that sounds right. if you got the money you may as well get bits since they are warrantied and probably better chance of working out of the box. zipzaps are pretty good quality but not very fast. clones are cheaper but some suck and some are really nice. i say if you like to tinker go with clones because they are cheap and 99% compatable with all the parts.

This is extremely misleading. I have seen only two or three people complain about problems and they were mostly issues with range associated with the 27mhz cars. That's out of literally thousands of posts. And that is only a fraction of the cars sold to date. I have three Zips and have had no problems with them. Zips are very well made, the quality is superb. In mass production, some bad ones will get through. Even with the best brands. You make it sound like most Zips don't work, and thats false. When someone is trying to gather factual information on buying a product, that is what they should get.

I like to see these as I don't like the car because of this. and because of that
NOTHING personal..

If someone complains about something about theirs car, maybe someone else knows how to FIX it.

This is what it's all about I didn't know this and I will Try it on my BIT. I'm looking for solutions and I'll provide solutions when I can.

Some guy complained about the ZZ controller I told him how he can FIX it so he can enjoy his car.

Again I'm looking for constructive arguments.

That came out of no where.....

Nah, I don't think hogjowlz was saying the there are problems with the Zip Zaps. He was saying that they are slow out of the box and that there are more problems with the clones so that it might be best to buy the bits. You guys get as hot and defensive about these zz's and bits as people do about politics. It is fun to read. Smile.

nah. zipzaps have good tires, wheels and steering. the rear axles are nice as well. mine did strip out where the axle stays in after a few weeks tho. i atribute that to playing with it too much.

they just dont go very fast unless you spend probably 20bucks in parts and 10hours doin mods. even then a modded bit or clone is still gona smoke it.

i personally like my clone that took limited modding to make it run how i want it. fast and controllable.

When you say that a Zip Zap is slow or fast, what are you comparing it too. What type of stock Tomy engine. For me, I would love something that is very fast, but I think my children (at least the younger ones) just want something raceable. I am sure I'll be happy with the bits that are coming in, but I would like to know what you are comparing it to when you say they are slow. In other words, does it move like a turtle, a turtle on speed, or a rabbit on valium? Just curious.
