Well, I got my 3 Bits and 2 Motors today :c) Yay for me!
As for import taxes/duties/etc. there were NONE!
So, I spent $108.10, and if I had bought them from my LHS, the cost would have been $146.95 [$39.99 for each car, plus I'm guesstimating $9.99 for each motor, since I've never seen them have motors in stock!].
This is a grand total savings of $38.85 USD.
Wow, that's as much as a new car! [which I have ordered, from HobbyImports, the Fairlady Z]
Oh, and for those of you watching, I ordered from ToyEast.com, and it took exactly 7 days to get here... not too shabby!

I did a search on the U.S. Customs web site [I don't remember the site, so you'll have to Google it], and came up with a page that states that anything marked "Gift" can be up to $100 USD in value before it gets any import taxes or duties levied upon it...
My order came in at $80 USD, which put it well below the limit :c)

Well, daydeal.com was a bust...they said the car I ordered was out of stock, and jumped up the price by $25. This was my first attempt to purchase ANYTHING on the net, and now I'm doubtful if I ever will try again. AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGH!!!!

I agree... and I can vouch for ToyEast being a reputable [and cheap!] place to purchase from... just be sure to keep your purchases under $100 since the U.S. Customs charges taxes/duties on packages marked "Gift" whose values are marked as > $100 USD.
Heck, I got my shipment from ToyEast quicker [or as quick as] most of my Amazon shipments!

I just ordered from them. They have wierd methods. Order ONLY ships when you check the status of your order than say ship now. Its weird, but They said my order was shipped.

Toyeast
I just wanted to relay my ToyEast experience.
Fantastic.
I got everything that I ordered (the 4 Special Edition GT-R's) a Celica body kit, and the Castrol Supra body about a week sooner than "expected".
I would not hesitate to do another larger order with them in the future. I think for parts and what have you though, I'd just as soon find somewhere locally, or find somewhere stateside at least to deal with.
ToyEast gets a thumbs up here though.

There are no import duties on items that are toys to the US from certain countries, including Japan.

Actually, there can be. ToyEast marks packages as "Gifts" which WILL have an import duty placed upon them if the $USD is greater than $100 USD. There are also other things which need to be taken into account. I can't remember the URL off hand, but do a search for U.S. Customs on Google and read up on their site.

Unaware, at the time, of the Gift designation limits (I've seen $100 a few places), I had ToyEast mark my shipment as a Gift and the value was 820 HKD, which is ~$105 USD.
After being alerted to the $100 limit I was a bit concerned.
It also says "6 Toys" in the "List contents(and number of articles)" box.
Anyhow..no delays. No duty. No ATF storming my place of employee.
*shrug*
