i read a bunch about the Iwaver at micro rc as well. The folks there are very nice and informative, but it is important to note that they also sell IWavers on their site. Not sure they would go out of their way to say anything bad about them. I considderred and IWaver,m but wnet with the xmod. I just liked the fact that I could buy it and parts in a local shop. If my local shops had iwaver I may have gotten one. They did have mioni z, but my wife is already ready to kill me after buying a $50 toy.
I like it so far, but I did struggle with the decision. I have read good things about iwavers on other forums so I am not suggesting that micro rc is lying to us, just reminding you to consider the source.
Do mini z owners do similar mods to the ones mentioned here for xmods? I was curious to see if they also add cells, resistors etc.? Is it as necessary? Is it as easy?
I don't own a Mini-Z, but appently all MR-01 parts can be used, so I gather similar parts are used, except for FETs, since the boards differ in design. I heard that there's gonna be an MR-02 out soon, so I'm waiting for that.
