judging by the way you started off your question, it still sounds like you don't have one. Does it have good range or should I get a 45 mhz blah blah blah.............

Which mod, the antenna or the cap?

antenna mod is pretty easy, just get some solid core 24awg wire (most bulk cat5 wireing is this, the retail stuff is usually stranded cat5, this is just my observation) and desolder the original wire and solder that one in. Its a 5-minute mod, no joke.
It gives you nice range plus you cna position the antenna wherever you want, allowing you to use it to fine tune weight distribution.

The car cap mod is very risky since if you cut hte wrong one, you make your car a nice little paperweight. Just be sure and if you have the right tools (smd soldering tip) you can try to remove it cleanly so you can put it back later. More than likely though you wont, so just get a set of fine wire cutters and chop it of at the solder points, being careful not to dmamge and pcb traces or any other components nearby.
This mod gives you some very nice range.

The controller cap mod, I do not recommend for racing use due to the extended range, it can mess with other folks cars in bad ways...imagine you car flying off the table onto a hard floor...breaking al your bodywork....and your 35ft from the nearest guy......and was that far cause bit controllers dont reach that far....it just sucks, and i decided to not play that game.

I do have a modded 57mhz controller, but i only did that since i had to see it for myself, but I havent taken it out of the house since.

If you ahve a multi-band, you can put the antenna from your original controllers into the multi and get more range, I do think that mod is fine for racing since all its doing is putting htat controller at about the same range as the original controllers.

Again remeber that range is dependant on the stuff around it, everyhting electronic emits some interference, and other factors can contribute to dead spots, so if you get bad range in the kitchen, try the bathroom for 5 mins to see if its any better...if it si it's environmental interference most likely. Or try in the living room, parents and significant other allowing, of course

I recently bought 5 BitcharG's Real ones not microsizers either... so far I have only opened 3 of them, the first was a White Skyline (27mhz), and it went about 6 foot... and would stop if it was facing me, would keep going if it was facing away from me... so I unknoted the antenna and unkinked it etc... it now can go about 10 or 11 feet from TX....

the other 2 that I opened cant gomore then a foot and a half from the TX.. i have to like hover the end of the TX antenna over the stupid car to get it to move... I might as well have a cord'ed car.. so each Bit has its own "personality" I guess... the other 2 freqs were 57 and 35mhz.. the 35 totaly sucked, and the 57 would go just far enough away that I could almost not reach it sitting on the floor...

I am now starting to search the forum for the FIX it ideas.. I think the antenna needs resoldering... on my bad ones, apears to be at least one broken strand.

this is pakiplaya

i went to the home depot, to get the cat5 antenna and get it soldered there if possible. i got the cat5 there, and then out of curiousity, i went to the lumber section(wood) and got 50 feet or more with the stock antenna!!
i then ran to one of the electrical sections, got 4 feet range!
see, its the interferances, not the antenna.
i went home to my 4 feet range ground, and couldnt solder one of the antennas due to not having a gun or iron.
i then cut the stock antenna in half and took insulation off to get to the wire. i then took insulation off the cat5 and twisted the 2 stock and cat5 together. how was my range u ask?
same, exact same 4 feet. and the cat5 antenna sticking out of the car was way taller then the stock cause it was longer. no differents. its the interferences. i know that now.
for people to know, this is pakiplaya. im starting off fresh,
