The clone is 99% identical to a real Bit Char-G.
I haven't heard of Giant Tiger (in Sk or Ab) but a store her has "Limited Quantities" going on sale on Tuesday. I have a final exam at 9:00 when the store opens, but I somehow convinced my girlfriend to be there when they open.....

I'm very pleased with this, though I imagine It will cost me in the long run...

From your opionion, I think the clones are worth a shot, I doubt I'll have the time or money to get serious about them, even if I wanted too....

anyhow of the four i own ill rank best to worst

1. cyclona- perfect after switching magnets

2. super racing- good but poor range

3. zipzap- go read about zipzaps

4. thor racer- the ones in that ebay link. it has problems steering but the motor that came with it is by far the best. good torque, good acceleration and pretty high topspeed.

I have 3 Panther clones. 2 have the Mercedes CLK D2 race car body, and the other has a Ferrari 360 Modena body. All 3 work great, track strait, turn equally in both directions, and seem to be very good quality when compared to my Tomy Bits!

I definatly recommend Panther clones!

Cyclona clone update:

I work at a grocery store (I'm only 18) and tonight after the store closed I had an idea. I wanted to see how far my Cyclona could go.

So my buddy and I stood at opposite ends of the store (behind the checkouts, goes from almost wall to wall, HUGE store)

We had a metre stick at hand, and after all was said and done, it had gone 32.3 metres (110 feet or something, I'm not sure of the conversion).

The only mod is the car antenna routed out from overtop of the PCB to underneath and out, adding about 1" of length.

I am shocked at how far it went.

right now i have 4 tomy's and 2 precious clones. so far the clones have had no problems and blow the tomys outa the water. tomys all have the 2.2 not sure what the clones have though. the tomy was straight outa the box, while i had to fool with the clones for a couple min to get them straight..

but they all run great... im not saying that the tomys are bad!! they just seem kinda weak outa the box when compared to the precious clones.

Thumbs up

If you plan on modifying, I think either a Super or shen qi wei are fantastic. I have both and the Zip Zaps Fast and Furious Kit.

A combination of these clones and the ZZ F&F stuff resulted in two great cars for me.
One geared and motored for speed, and one with, well, basically what was left over, resulting in a slower car with more power.

My fast car has home-brew pen springs and dual steering return springs. My secondary car has just the springs mod.

Just by themselves they were okay runners, and the leftover parts have come in handy upgrading my nephew's wimpy Chassis RC POS.

this is just like the rolls royce ford comparison. People say that all cars are the same. Well its the same with bits and clones. Bits are not only a brand name. With bits you get better bodies(buildt that is), better handeling, (many different kits). And upgradeable motors(tomy brand, not clones using tomy brand). Some of the clones, when dropped they fall to peices. This has happened to all of mine(ive had about 20 clones). Their rims are slopped up. White gearing is too torquey. And their stock motors are "fast" to many people. Clones have the cheapest bodies. Now if you find a great clone thats good. But all a clone is, is a Saab(which is a great car) compared to a mercedes(an excellent car)

i wasnt saying that the bits arent great cars. but as of yet. I still dont see anything better over my precious clone. I understand that i may have got lucky with my clone... but none of the others that my coworkers bought that day have had any problems...

well we are constantly flying ours off the work tables onto the tile floors.. and nothing has broke yet.

these clones also do accept the parts from the bits. i have had no compatability issues.. everything looks and fits identically. with the exception of the antenna, which is a solid insulated wire, vs. the tomy which has a much smaller diameter insulated wire(i cant tell if its braided or not).

there is no way that you can compare these things to fords and rolls royce's!!! i can see if you said a ford tarus and a mercury sable. maybe... they have different emblems and minor differences, but that dosent mean one is better than the other.

i dont understand where your going with the upgradable motors.. you can upgrade motors on both the clone and the tomy.

in my opinion these clones have got me more bang for my buck. but thats just my opinion... i agree with you that they are superior in some ways. dont take this the wrong way, i like my bit very much, i think that if it was sold with a more powerful engine things would be different. but if they did that, then nobody would be buying the extra engines.. (marketing ploy) everyone is entitled to their opinion. this is mine.

I never yelled clones are better than bits. what facts are you talking about. sure these things are cheap. but not all of us can afford to buy 20+ cars. so for us getting the best thing you can get outa the box is what we look for. I agree with you on the tomys with the 2.2's those are nice!

i dont think that your understanding me.. i think the tomys are great. im just saying some clones are great too. i kinda agree with you about the way of stealing tomys money, but it is good to have some competition, it keeps them on their toes (even if they are competing with their own design). but you cant expect them to have a monoply on this market. if they did prices may be a lot higher... either way you go these things are a blast..

p.s. clones are good if you have pets in the house!! my dog ate two of my clones.. the only thing i was able to recover from them was the slobbery motors.. he crunched the hell outa the rest of the car. only took him a couple bites.
