man i cant remember the abbv stands for but its like particle board only heavyier and smoother its good its a compressed man made board that comes in 4x8 and the most popular thickness is 3/4 hope that helps
MDF - Medium Desity Fiber and 3/4" is the thickness usually carried but I used 1/2" (Cheaper) also good for furniture building I built my entertainment/TV stand out of it
