How many nitro cars are you planning to race that beast against?
Some RadioShack cars and trucks have a round motor (normally 9 to 12 volts) that I believe would fit nicely. They're about 1 by 1.25 inches. Powerful suckers, even after years of my abuse. My 1/12 scale RadioShack Chevy C1500 is almost 7 years old, and it still runs like a murderer. And that's years of running on pitted dirt roads! It might fit if you used hose clamps to secure it to the chassis.
EDIT: I plan on putting a 12v razor motor in my soon-to-be '04 Mustang XMOD. Any way(s) of running it at 12v without turning the board into a WMD?
