:ö: nope, that u-joint is for 1/30th scale and is suitable for real micro off-roading!... though my 1/87 u-joint design is a bit different from that! but it's pretty strong because i made it out of steel .

yeah im using a pistol grip and i was right it was the battery pack. it does the same thing on my 1/10 when the battery starts to die. i but the batterys seem to last longer in my 1/10. oh well i plan on having my 1/30ish "dune buggy" done by then end of this week. if i get time to work on it. ill keep yall posted and show pics when im done. and this truck does not use a u joint anywhere, it is 2wd and uses a gear box out of a $2 "RC" from wal-mart.

well after getting the gearbox on with all the electronics it doesnt look much like a lean fast dune buggy, more like an overweight car with no suspension. the reason i didnt put suspension was because any spring i put would probably bottem out from the weight of the electronics.

the reason i made it like this is because the total cost of the truck was about $3 for a peice of 1/4" metal bar and everything else i had. i am having trouble with the mico servo speed control. when i turn the car on and hit the gas the car turns left and goes fast. and when it stops its does a back and forth dance thing across the floor. i have adjusted the trim and the little thing on the servo and nothing happens. have any of yall had this problem?
EDIT: i have desoldered the servo motor and attached a more powerful one. could this be the problem?

what killer is saying is that that motor is still to large for the micro servo speed control, its drawing to may amps and the reciever begins to act like its got a low battery, you need a more standard speed control or a smaller motor.

Hack into that big servo, and use its board as the esc, and then reassemble the micro servo to use as the steering Does it articulate at all? Looks good!
