ActOfGod, thanks for the great description. I know that must have taken you some time to type up that long description and I really appreciate it.
micro_amps and ph2t, it would be great if you guys would also share your designs (i.e. circuit diagrams, parts, etc...).

Thanks for the feedback ph2t, rrvball. I figure if I went to the trouble of learning the stuff and building it, I might as well make it easier for someone else to do the same. My target audience is always the casual tinkerer like myself  Now I just need to find some more easy projects to work on.
