lol thx swavey...
my mom stepped on my bit luckily only one of the steering knuckles popped out.. it actually looked kinda cool cuz the front was scraping the ground, like in one of those commercials for huge 20 inch rims on like a civic...
kk but anyway, i found some REMs... im not sure if they're different from the original magnet.. cuz they look the same, but from rough tests they're one hell of a lot lot different... i put 2 of these little htings together and BANG... i cant pull them apart... and it takes hella effort to slide them apart... they're the exact same size (im pretty sure) and strong enough that a piece of one cracked off when they slapped together.. they're like..2 bucks i hear (for 2), and im gonna go down to the mall (southgate) after my exam 2morro... who wants a pair of these? i still have yet to test the strengths... but if not for steering, you could use them to rip the metal shavings from the bottom of your car...
anyone want? just post however many... i'll pick them up 2morro or something..
hmm that lego car's pretty cute =)
ralliart- damn that sux... i got wednesday to friday off after midterms.. well, mebbe some other time

hmm well it's in a store called "the science store".... i think it may be a local shop, but im not too sure... it's in southgate (in edmonton)
actually i didnt find them.. but we did a project for bonus marks in physics... making a motor, and you know how that involves magnets and such.. so some of my friends went there and got them... they didnt care about their motor after the teacher marked them, so i just asked for a couple and where they got them..

you use these to replace the old magnet to make the steering really quick and tight usually with the old magnets when you are going fast the wheels start to point straight again but with a rare earth they stay turning fully.

sure ralliart, i'll pick one up for you... actually i might get like like 4 or so, just in case people actually want them.. this actually involves a bit of work and nerve to install, taking apart the front end and all, but it shouldnt be a problem... if it is, well i'll try to help as much as i can
if C_CRX is reading, this is just to say that im almost certain that these new magnets are stronger than the old ones... im gonna do a real test on friday, install it and mess around... and if it's good, then the only thing we need a group buy on is NiMH batteries...

rare earth magnets:
I've heard that they are pretty good and WILL give better steering response. But my dual batter bit is very fast and it doesn't matter how quick the wheels turn, it eather flips over or does donoughts. Now something I would DEFINETLY try is to add 3 magnets to make the magenet you put in wider than the stock one. This will restrict the steering a tiny bit allowing for slightly wider turns which are more controlled. This most likely will result in less sliding. Some people have found good results off of adding small washers to the sides of the stock magnet. Although this would slightly reduce the strenght of the magnet is also restricts steering slightly. Pie, if you do find good results i might spring for a set of 3 or something if you would be willing to somehow ship em out. I'm not sure on the best method of payment though. It is an easy mod. I can post a step by step for anyone who is concerned with it.

on the NiMH batteries. I found somene in vancouver that will send me 2 1/3AAA (a bit shorter than stock so you can put 2 in the body) 160 mAh with shipping, gst, pst included for $17.72
They are individually $5.99 each canadian. That is cheaper than any site i have seen them, usually they are about 6 bucks US! Shipping seems kinda of expensive at 4 dollars to ship over one province but i guess it is reasonable.
C_CRX, were you able to find a better price on thoes batteries?

Thanks!

hmm, i'd be kinda interested in those batteries at that price.. but where are you getting them from? if i could ask my friend to buy them and ship them over, it'd be a little cheaper... he's loaded, so he can cover the shipping
oooo man jap midterm 2morro... gonna go study...
nite every1
and yep, dieselboy, i'll get some extras if i find they're nice and strong... ehh, i guess cash.... envelope shipping ^_^

i need some batteries pretty quick i think becuase the amount of juice it takes to spin these large tires must be alot more than what it takes to spin the factory ones. The dual batteries only last like 3-5 minutes of constant runtime.
