Got the CF chassis in the mail today WOOT! Now if the rest of the stuff I ordered shows up soon, I'll be a VERY happy camper indeed.

Zero, you produce a very fine product. I'll be ordering the upgrade kit sometime after the first of the year.

Thanks!

That receiver is an out of production Hitec Shredder less the case........not too good for 1/10 scale but works fine if distance isn't an issue. Hard to find today..............

hey Zero. For some reason, my CF chassis is causing a number of problems. It doesn't seem to drive straight and the driveshaft/motor seems to bind. Can I get any help?

4WD or 2WD?

Did you shim the rear motor pod with the correct amount of spacers?

Are the front arms and towers aligned?

The Hitec Shredder is no longer available, once in a while you see one at auction..............

Some have used XXL receivers without the case but shrink wrapped to save space/weight.

I use the Novak Spy but other micro speed controls can be used. Just beware of clearance issues between your body shell and the chassis. It can take a lot of wiggling and configuring to get it all to fit.

If you use a standard type receiver, wiring is basically plug and play unless you go as far as shortening the leads to keep it all neat.

I use an M8 to control the beast but will probably switch over to the new IWaver 2PL controller I got with their ready set. Any radio will work with the aftermarket receiver as long as they are the same frequency range, 27 mhz is common in this scale.

You got me on that one, in 22 years I've never heard of or used and H-bridge in radio control, unless it is part of an existing component, and I didn't know it was there.

I'll have to differ that to some of the electrical gurus around here.

No depending on the amp rating of the aftermarket ESC you wont need an H-Bridge

The SPY is built for 1/18 vehicles and can handle most motors in this scale................it is a brushed motor controller though, not made for brushless systems, that is another category altogether........

Sorry to ask another question. You said that particular receiver is no longer being produced. What would I look for in a replacement to the Hi-Tec shredder, i.e number of channels, AM or FM?

Any opinion of the Hitec HS-50 sub micro servo. Specs show same speed and amp as the HS-55, but seems closer to the orignal Xmod servo in size. Of course it's torque rating is lower than the 55.

Thanks

I have found another receiver!!!

GWS makes a smaller!!! 75mhz FM receiver!!!!!

Just got it in this weekend for use on a Pro-Z mini-Z chassis (Thanx Scott for the info), but it should work even better with the X-Frame.

It is GWS R-4PII/H (4CH Pico Type) and can be purchased in models compatible with Airtronics or Futaba...........

After doing some research that GWS receiver is 72MHz.
