as a side note, since I put some real rubber on the back, it doesn't spin nearly as much, but now it goes that much faster and is even harder to control. I think the lack of suspension up front, or possibly the tiny front wheels are to blame. I've got a 3 cell Zip that is just as fast (but heavier) and it handles infinitely better.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH STEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEE!

Man that looks ...beautiful......(wipes tear). Screw wheel hop....all props to realistic die cast like bodies ! That camaro is SWEET and i dont LIKE camaros. BTW you mentioned real rubber.....where did you acquire the rubber tires? How can i getmy hands on some...?
I must put some on the car as i control it just fine now but the added control / traction would be nice.

Wait....some of the die cast cars have rubber tires..( note to self...locate rubber tires).

Thank you steve.........(wipes another tear) and God Bless these Tiny Cars. True TINY R/C's!

Man, that looks nice Steve. I might have to pull mine out of the closet and slap a new body and wheels on it. I had almost written these things off after the first drive.

holy...thanks for the props. Anyhow, the wheels are from a HotWheels car I bought for the chrome...the hole for the axle is smaller than the Awesome RC axle so you can drill it out to fit. Problem is, the HotWheel's wheels are plastic. So I clamped the wheels in my dremmel and with a razor blade turned the things until they was small enough diameter to fit the front rubber of a Tyco Magnum Slot car. No lie, it was a major biatch...every once in a while it would fly off and strike my cat...note, wear safety glasses at all times. Super glue helps hold the wheel to the dremmel thingy. Once it's done, you can break the super glue free without too much effort.

The car is just plain fast, and the wheels are just plain small. Yeah, the body looks ok, windows would rule, but handling is a bummer. Not sure if these things are worth pursuing or not.

oh yeah, it was a Tyco Magnum Super G slot car kit that had the tires and rims and springs. The tires were meant for smaller rims but when stretched they looked really lo profile...and small enough to fit in the tiny Awesome RC wheel well, especially on the motor side.

Off hand do you know of any cars ( die cast or other) at Walmart that have rubber wheels that would fit well on the small diameter rims that the Awesome R/c's have? I was at the store on lunch and happened to look around briefly...the Hot Wheels preferred assortment ( lowered Ford Focus) seems about right on the rear. Can anyone give me concrete facts on which die cast car has the "right" size tires?

I've looked and looked and most Hotwheels have plastic tires that look rubber, sometimes they almost feel like it, bit they're just really soft plastic. From my experience, they work ok for front tires, but they just don't cut it in the rear. I hear some pullback cars have nice tires, but I can't find any.

Some of the Hotwheels HOT ROD series and Legends series have rubber tires. Also, the Johnny Lightning have HO scale rubber tires.

After racing my EVO Awesome R/C against my new stretched dual cell and well.....

Lets just say the dual celled 1970 Barracuda wiped the floor with the EVO's candy ass ( and matched it in low profile good looks as the body was draggin the floor).

So im a lil perturbed to say the least....the EVO looks SOOO nice but if it cant handle its own on the "track"well ( it can but dual cell vs. dual cell is fair and it got SMOKED...and im not talking minor difference in motor smoked).....we have an issue. So now what....HAs anyone swapped tires or motors?

Dammit....Why wont RS release better looking bodies so i wont have to deal with this issue?

Lets hope te MM r/c cars are exact replicas of the die cast bodies on chassies....if so the problem is officially solved.
