Just switched from Zip to Micro

Stopped into hobbytown and picked up a 49mhz skyline.
Its got 18 foot of range out of the box and drives great.

Im going to check and see if my zipzaps performance kit parts work on it or if i have to return them with the zip.

I'm going to get a bit char-g 35 mhz for my second car so I can have 2 good cars.

Man I dont know what they did wrong with the zips but the microsizers did it right.

Theres nothing wrong with the ZZ's you just couldnt modify them right probably. I personally dont like Microsizers because of their scale, motor and controller. Also, I have a 20 foot range on my stock ZZap.

im not trying to start anything,
but having purchased and played with both cars in the same week I find the microsizer a better car for me.

The Zip only had a range of 5 feet even after adding a 3 foot antenna, the Micro has an indoor range of 18 and outdoor range of 52 feet right out of the box.

I do like the 2.1 motor from the performance kit in the micro but its not enough for me to keep the pack so tommorrow I'm returning all my zipzap products - the 911, the performance kit, and the cleaning kit.

Yes the Micro cost 12 dollars more but the car actually functions, I dont know if radio shack just had a bad bunch of 27mhz cars or what but a lot of people have complained about them.

If people start getting decent zip's from the shack that you dont have to mod just to play with I'll defantly pick one up, but for now I'm not going to support them.

Just so this isnt a one sided arguement there are things I dont like about the Micro.
1. Charging Station -
.......No release button
.......its a pain just getting the car on the right way.
.......i liked the zips placement on the top better.
2. Run time
.......Even with the base motor the Micro dosent last as long as the zip did, but maybe thats because I can stand to use the car the right way without worrying if its going to go out of range.
3. Cost -
....... Right now the zips are 19.99, the Micros are 34.99 - I'm talking store prices here i dont want to wait a week just cause i can get it online for 32 bucks.
4. Front wheels
........ Just looks weird to me with them that much smaller than the rear.
5. Wind up antenna.
....... Sure it gets good range but come on a wind up antenna ???
6. Buttons
....... I like the button shape better and the fact there see through but come on whats with the clicking, has anybody come up with a no clicking mod for the controller.

I think that sums it up, I hope I put in enough comments to keep both sides happy.

my cousin bought a bit clone yesterday and its quicker than my zipzap. the zipzap handles more realisticly however and doesnt spin out or flip over as much. plus mine has dimensions like a real car.

easy the zips have the good batts just pop off the pcb board, be careful not to break the little tabs(since you returning it) and pop the battery out real easy and youll have what all the bit owners have to purchase, there is no way radio shaq will know and it will boost your run time way up

well that was easy enough

charging it now to see if theres a difference

car seemed a little faster and more responsive, but the run time was pretty short

you're actually supporting or advocating a deception on a return? all for a US$3 NiMH?

perhaps i misunderstood the recent portion of this thread?

hmm... i kinda surmised that things were a little loose in this forum, but i hope this doesn't represent the views of most members... (or the moderator)...

btw, you can get the 120MaH NiMH 1/3AAA batteries for US$2 on-line...
