place ur tips here!!
hey guys, I'm not sure if i should start this thread here or at the mods page...but since i'm here..i guess i'll just make it here..
post all ur tips that makes ur car go faster, turn better, longer lasting, longer range...etc...whatever improves ur car...
here are my tips:
so far i've just did the crip cap removal..it did wonders for my range.
and constantly cleaning my car helps alot...so many dirt and lil dust ball get stuck
make sure ur tires are on straight! sometimes i notice that my tires are slightly wobbly..and that affects the speed..
no grease or stuff like that...it just attracts alot of dust
that's about it for me..i havne' done anything crazy like dual bat mod or dual engine or anyting like that...too affraid to try...lol

Tips
Ok here we go...
1.) The best lube is.... PENCIL yes pencil just run your car upside down and on the spur gear just lightly touch a pencil to the spur gear do the same with the gear on the axel. DONT DO THIS TO THE PINION GEAR. If any gets in the motor it will fry it. Only do this with a 2.6 or lower motor, because with higher motor speeds it may damage the gears. After about 5 times of doing this your car will run 1mph or so faster !!! Try to re lube after every 10-15 runs.
2.) Heating up before races....
Before i do anything if my car has been sitting for over 5 mins i always turn it upside down and run it till it dies then it will be nice and warm and you will get better proformance next run.
3.) Cripple cap and pots mod.
Pots mod can get you upto 5 feet more range, the cripple cap gave me 40 feet more range also. (one thing with cripple cap is that sometimes after its done for your car to respond you have to hold your finger ont he antenna LIGHTLY then you will get some RANGE)
4.) Antenna modifacations...
You wont belive what taking the pcb cover off and untying the knot under the pcb and giving you 1-2 cm of antenna will do it will give you anywhere from 1-5 ft extra range. If you want to replace your antenna just use Cat5 wire.

Lighten the car! Take sandpaper or a dremel to the inside of the body and sand out a good 15% of the interior thickness. You'd be surprised how much plastic is in there. Will the car be easier to break? Sure, that's the price you pay for speed.
Reduce reciprocating mass on the wheels! Use a tiny flathead screwdriver to 'cut' 4 of the 8 spokes out of each wheel.
Painting your bit? Always prep the surface first; the paint will stick much better. Get some 800-1200 grit sandpaper and lightly sand the entire surface of the car. You'll find that your paint sticks much better.

-Never ever get bored with a black permenant in your hand. You'll end up pating ur body.
I know these are common sence but still

Be careful when racing on tiled surfaces. If you're running a high end motor, regardless of your tires, you will lose control every so often, so be very light on your turning controls.
Every so often you should remove your rear axel and clean off the gunk that builds up inside of it, also while your axel is off, you should run your motor without it for a couple of minutes, this "stretched" my motor out and really helped my speed in the next race, for Dra-G racers, this is a must.
Sincerely,
Yaksha

my bit and zip was worm down at the rear axel..i pick the car up and the axel would just lay there..total loss of speed..here's my solution..get a rear axel ratio you want to keep cause i dont suggest trading anymore...get a small tip soldier and let it heat up for ten min..and unplug it for about four so its still hot to heat plastic but not burn it..take the axel out and see the little notches the axel "snaps" into..place the tip right below it..what does it do?messes every thing up if your not carefull!if you are carefull it heats and bends plastic up toward the notch and almost gives a half circle of protectionremeber less heat better and less you do is better (gotta make sure your axel snaps into place and it free rolling.this works better than foil as foil can cause more friction.and remeber less is better

another small tip:
every once in a few weeks or so...take apart your steering...and take the steering spring out ..
use some tape and to take off all the junk that gets stuck to the magnet that messes up your steering...
youll be surprised as to how much stuff does get stuck on it...
