Talking Mods Galore!

So, I was a busy-body this weekend. First, I did the antenna mod on the controller. (24" size) Ground the chrome off too. Now both my 49 and my roommates 27 MHz cars got great range! (did his too)

Next, I found a Muscle Machine Import Tuner car (Ford Focus)((since when is Ford an Import???) Anyway, took the "bling bling" wing off it, and attatched to my PT Bruiser. Next, I thought the rims on the MM were rad, so I set out to put em on my car. Well, you have to drill a much bigger center hole for the axel, and I ruined two So, only have cool front rims.

I finished off with a rad new paint job, a huge blower from a regular MM car, and massive tailpipes! Pics to follow soon!!

Also tried to up the power on the PT Bruiser. Went out to Batteries Plus, and found a 3V 1/3N battery from Duracel (non rechargeable) Its a tad shorter and a bit thicker than stock. Put that baby in, and my Zip was flyin, but I had NO control for turns. Every turn was just spinnin doughnuts!!! Those of you who are the awsome modders here, how on earth do you control the Zip with the extra volts??? I have the tires with the funny tread pattern on.

Keep up the great work everyone. I love readin these boards with the technical info. Makes my head hurt!!

radioshack of all places has a 17 3/4 in antenna that fits into the controller fairly well after cutting a little piece off and drilling a hole in the base thing it fits well and when it retracts, it only sticks about an inch or so out of the top. i get about 10-15 feet without the 3rd battery in. 25-30 with the 3rd battery.

Hey can you close the hood on the controller when you install that 17 3/4 in antenna? I bought the 22 3/4 one and it bugs me since it doesn't fit in the case at all anymore. I'm too anal for that.

you can close the cover if you cut out just enough of that corner of the cover. Still sticks out though. I got the 28" cell phone antenna. Great range on a 27.
